Did anybody else not get the new title screen for this update? I still have the one for 0.53 but the content for 0.54 loaded in.

0.53 is the new update. He just changed the number on the image and didn't make a new image. Surely it should have been adult ayanes face like the epilogue we've seen for a month

Tbh that one was hella obvious for the longest time, like sticking your fingers in your ears and closing your eyes levels of not looking at the clues.

It's her name that was the contentious thing and well...I haven't reached the end of the update yet but she seems to accept it's Himawari right now.

So it looks like some of the info Sel Himawari provided us in her Discord appearance was true.

(Moonflare please don't strangle me for this) Before Moonflare and I made our initial posts (around the 24th of August I believe) about the Himawari edits made to the wiki she (Himawari) was actually in the discord asking for access to the wiki to make the changes herself.(linking some of the posts she made below) So it looks like the ARG started on the 16th of August and we caught pretty much the tail end of the ARG.

Also it looks like the Twitter accounts of the Nothing is Beautiful characters and The Unofficial Upside Down House (Are You Happy Here) page also posted something on the same date Himawari first appears in the Discord. But it looks like any posts on that day were since deleted as all accounts have nothing posted on that day. And it looks like any evidence of these posts has been scrubbed from the discord server other than this screenshot which shows some thing was posted on that date.

Holy shit, this update is so good. Like fucking wow, there's just so much good shit. All the complaints about the plot spinning the wheels can probably be put to rest - I have some fear it'll unpleasantly bog down in the future updates, but before then, holy shit, it's so good.

Yeah this has to be one of the best updates for the game. Right as I started getting disinterested it pulls me back in.

Will be interesting to see how Sel handles the pacing from this point on, will be huge whiplash to return to the sandbox/chapter 4 and before normal at any point after this update. While the game still has 5(?) years left until completion per his own timeline, things seem to be reaching a boiling point that would require a somehow bigger revelation than the things spoken plainly in this update to bring that boiling point back down to a sizzle; if in the next 5 years the story returns to the old pacing, it will either be well done because of something currently not present in narrative, or it will be simply bad.

While a lot that was revealed was both foreshadowed and theorized in some form by the community, and reading the recent story with that in mind didn't detract too much from it, by stating it outright in the text itself to not only the characters but any and all readers, Sel has sort of locked himself into future text reflecting the revelations, lest readers lose interest from the whiplash. Treading water with some character arcs for the sake of others, or some characters not having events/focus for months to years irl isn't gonna work after this update, and it barely did before.

Games in Japan put Japanese music, I think maybe it's preference or unused to music? I struggled the first time but, now it is easy for me

Well fuck me sideways, I knew some plot was going to happen this update but I wasn't expecting to actually learn so much about the world and get actual answers to stuff I've seen people talking and theorising about for years of pages.

Akira might actually have some drive now too - although, conversely, it's going to feel really weird bouncing off this update and having him go back to seducing the rest of the cast lol

It's the same issue I had with the Good Kid songs. The music choice is good, but it's difficult to read the text on screen, when you have somebody singing in your ear.
