Hi everyone, I have some other ideas to share after some insomnia-fueled thoughts from last night.

Two Wishes, One Person: If every person can have only one wish granted, and Maya, who was born from an incredibly selfish wish by Akira, somehow managed to make a completely selfless wish, something meant for Akira and only him, then maybe in this heavenly bureaucratic mess of a world, that second wish existance was seen as incompatible with the first one.
Since it was a wish made by a wish, maybe the system interpreted it as Akira effectively having two wishes granted — which isn’t allowed.

This could have caused both wishes to malfunction: Akira could no longer enjoy his first wish (Maya’s function), because it became “locked out” from him (again, one wish per person), without Maya being fully erased, like, maybe erasing Akira's memories about everything was just easier. (Maybe deleting a wished person is more complex than simply excluding them.)
At the same time, Akira found himself trapped inside Maya’s selfless wish.
I won’t speculate too deeply about what exactly Maya wished for. I’ve seen some theories some of you made in previous posts, but i still have no idea, personally, the only thing that makes sense to me so far is some kind of world where Sensei can have some sort of easier life, even without Maya.

Maya’s wish created a kind of paradox. The first wish (her existence and function) could no longer function because it was overridden by the second wish — her wish made for Akira.
This would explain why, after Maya Prime reset, Sensei could go back to have sex with New Maya: because she wasn’t perceived anymore as Akira’s wish. She still was, in truth, but Akira didn’t think of her that way — and in this chaotic, paperwork-driven universe, that misperception was enough.
Now that Akira has realized New Maya is still Maya, and that he’s in love with her, things might shift again. We’ll see in the future updates i guess.

Niki’s convenient existence: Regarding Himawari telling Sensei to be realistic about Niki’s existence — how she seems too convenient for this world — I think Niki herself might be the result of a wish.
A wish made by a Niki who, after leaving Sensei to pursue her idol career, found herself wishing for another chance with him, even though she knew it was too late.
It was too late for her original self, in her original worlf, maybe, but not for the Wish-Niki who appeared in Akira’s world. That version of her had the perfect setup to try and try again, to stay with Sensei this time.
Another wish made by one person but “enjoyed” by their wish-copy, if “enjoyed” is even the right word for what Niki is going through right now in the story.

I don't get who the target audience is for the animation stretch goal, either. He purposefully goes out of his way to make them suck and be stupid, or weird. He begs for more subs, doesn't offer anything worth subscribing for, and then gets mad about it. I don't get it.

if I already have the scene data of a few scenes and know how to load them, how do I swap out the characters in the scene?

That's basically it. Charastudio is a really interesting tool once you get the hang of it. You can add a bunch of extra stuff, like shaders, props, lens flares, and etc. Just keep practicing!

FireLordZuko has a couple of brief tutorials for lighting somewhere in here
Tbh I'd consider that tutorial of mine a bit outdated compared to the settings I use now. I should probably make an updated post at some point...

Oh yeah, and while I was at it, I made a more complete render of Kaori for fun. Here ya go:
