Wizard content is different, I believe there was a quote from him where he said that ignoring Wizard content isn't going to lock you out of the ending or something, which also implies there are choices that will. But as you've seen from Connor's existence, it doesn't mean it's a priority in terms of story experience and it's a promise he probably regrets making now.In my opinion, this is a coping mechanism by the players on green path. Their only information comes from selebus in discord, and his other answers to questions about the game, shakes the fundemals of the ideas of sadness now, happiness later and true ending is only for green path.
(Selebus said that the stomacahce is the worst thing will be in the story and his wizard controversy with his supporters)
And if I may be so bold, isn't this cope by red path players assuming that Sel is going to create a world that doesn't run on the rules of real life, but then is going to judge people if they don't treat the game like if it was real life?
Sel who has made lewding the highschool students mandatory, but then judge you for not treating this one student like the rest of them. It's not like there's a choice where if you don't fuck your niece daughter the game literally keeps breaking from chapter 1 onward or something...
This is a strawman though, this IS LiL where gods punish you by deleting the love of your life if you don't take their deal and rape people while recording everything in a very Truman show experience. (Something we should talk about later btw)Now lets forget LiL and imagine this. Your underage relative/friend comes on to you and said s/he was assaulted. Would your reaction to that will be similar to Green or Red path?
I wouldn't call Io a typical case of what happens when a child goes through what Io went through, frankly her story has had a lot of important anime character power added to it. Somehow having an experience so bad she has prescriptions so wide and vast that she has access to drug supplies that would make Walter White jealous, enough that she can spare some to Miku on an indefinite basis and doesn't need to have them herself. And yet she's as functional as she is, able to be around power tools unsupervised without her best friend worrying about self harm nearly as much as Futaba has to worry about Rin. Where her daily trauma responses can be boiled down to "doesn't like females".
She can wax poetic about how orgasms and sex only remind her of a stomachache but when you only slowly approach that she merely panics and can still tell Sensei that she loves him and that she's sorry for her reaction (1999 PC Classic, Rollercoaster Tycoon). How she can go through stomachache and her reactions during it is "I don't get it" and has no trauma from the experience afterward, instead of anything resembling a vietnam flashback.
I could push this further and show how in 1997 PC Classic, Theme Hospital that her green path attempt at a handjob is the first time she's shown to push her boundaries and do things she may not like, something Uta has been trying to get her to do since her introduction and presumably long before that. Something about stomachache or the aftermath is pulling Io out of the walls she's been building since her trauma, and the red path dialogue during the same event shows she's firmly staying in her safe space and not trying to grow.
