Lets say they do treat it with kid gloves, are they going to ask him to stop? Are the girls going to stand up for him? (probably) Is everything going to come crashing down, but then in that process people gain awareness of the situation and just throw the rules out of the window once the reality of everyone being in a time loop becomes public knowledge, or is that always going to stay low key secret? Are things going to change when Tsukasa happens?

I think there needs to be some sort of answer there before Niki can come back. She needs to be at a point where she can casually hang out with Akira before she'll return.

But yeah, I definitely need to get into this thing again, I've been putting it off because I kept telling myself 'replay from CH1'. And the sheer size of the game kept scaring me off. Kind of like the reason I'll probably never read One Piece.

I read the game from the beginning up to Version 49 in one go. The experience was great, and I was completely immersed. I felt a little depressed after realizing I had to wait for new updates.
I've stopped playing after version 49, saving updates, waiting for Selebus to either take a break or make another "crapfest." Once that happens, I'll binge read from where I left off.

Either way though like you said, her whole arc following Masahiro's death was about trying to be a better mum.

And regardless whilst Maki/Masahiro's dynamic wasn't good for Makoto growing up I think that's just kind of irrelevant to the actual argument? I guess it's nice Makoto got it off her chest but she just said it to make her mum feel shitty because she didn't have any actual counter-point, Maki's still totally in the right and Makoto's perception is just warped because she's been groomed lol the closest she got to making a salient point in that back-and-forth was correcting Maki's grammar.

I'd say there isn't really true resentment, but it's how Maki approaches this the wrong way with an argument that is although reasonable but not possible for Maki to defend that collectively ticks off someone much smarter than her, especially now that Makoto is a part of the RAS. And when that happens, the smart yet irritated person who is already biased about the matter and knows literally a world more than you do will judge EVERYTHING you bring to the debate table and that absolutely includes grammar (aka a pain in the ass but that's our class rep and she has a good ass!).
