The update patch does work with the version of LiL on the older version of Ren'Py. For me it took longer than boot around like 3-5 minutes.

The game itself is working for me just fine, but it crashes when I try to view the bonus animation, so as long as you avoid doing that, you should be fine to use the update.

Well it's a sunday and it starts with Ayane and Ami so maybe check the script files for chap4, ayane, and ami to see if the trigger requires something you somehow missed?
