For now, it just unlocks some bonus wizard scenes in the cheat menu. If you're like me and don't understand what wizard is a euphemism for, go read the scenes and you'll figure it out for yourself.
Short answer? Eldritch entities of unimaginable power acting like salesmen. Long answer? If the Kirin event didn't clue you in, they want you to be a stereotype. The price is yourself, but you have to agree to the sale.

I loved the update, but first of all.
Seriously what the fuck was that. I'm sure selebus gave up about lost parents arc and cutting it out abrubtly while suprised me, didn't shaken me since it has not really developed far.
Futaba listening about how Rin is strong from Otaha? What? Lets say Futaba act like a overprotective mother and doesn't want Rin to hurt and convinced by Otaha, then at least put some line about how Futaba will be stand with Rin after the confession. Would not change the pacing or outcome of the scene but it would put Futaba in a active role in Rin's life as HER BEST FRIEND
And don't let me start with that "that's the sweetest thing ever said to me" bullshit. I don't want Futaba to hold a grudge since she is not like that but the problem between them wasn't how sweet or ugly the words Nodoka used in the book.
The book portrayed a person who could not stand the sight of themselves, reflecting them—flaws they loathed and all—with a realistic, renewed perspective. Futaba still has problems with her image. Without solving this problem she should not forgive Nodoka.
About Maki first i thought it was so out of character for someone who sells porn, then i remember her last interaction with Akira. I think she has realised what scars would leave some sexual actions on people even though it all happened within consent. I was gonna write a longer post about it but i'm tired and forgot what i was gonna say.
About Kirin sometimes forget she exist. And when i remember "oh she was sex girl". So TSS was maybe admitting how one dimensional her character after 5 years? I enjoyed it regardless. I hope someone can tell why Nao chan saved her but not the other girls. Since Kirin got out in the middle of it, does she remember the TSS?

Think I've said it a few times since the update, but I think, besides the entire setting helping Akira, Haruka's issue is that she's selfish and chose the worst person with whom to try to relieve her base urges. Kirin wants to be noticed, and thought being a sex object was the best way to do that, and the whole Ayane blackmail arc was, I believe, her way of winning over her and winning her over to her cause of sex being the best way to exist (since sex as the end would excuse any means). But after the Ayane bitchslap, and later Sensei traumadumping on her the last Christmas event, she realized she wants sex to be loved, not sex just because, casually making her the best target for the groomer that Sensei. Though not for the groomer that Haruka wants to be, since she's very selfish and literally just wants a toy.
Also, my opinion of the TSS stuff is that the gods want the girls because they believe they can be their perfect dolls, and try to mold them like that. In Kirin's, they almost got into her (or maybe they did?) mind that the only thing she could ever be is a sex doll before the Nao save.

So, i just remembered that Akira made a promess to Wakana, to return to school by the end of the year. We are past Christhalloween (whatever). So there isnt much time left of the year... the recen reset didnt send us back.

Presumably, they are her actual parents. Not a version of them, but this Akira and this Ayane specifically.
Akira, for sure. On Ayane, we're still unsure - but likely as well. As for her reasons being here, even though they'll eventually escape and have her anyway, is that something goes wrong after that happens that she's trying to change.
Standard troubleshooting is "when did it start happening?". Depending on your answer it could be mutiple things. Likely suspects are installing care packages, or using a save that has the guide mod installed, while you yourself don't.
I had NO idea that using a save with the guide mod would be an issue. I think thats what did it. Why would that even be a thing?

Because the save with the guide mod is trying to use said mod, but doesn't find it. Thus the error.
Most of the saves will use it, so I recommend you install it. Standard recommendation is to have it installed it anyway - since it's absolutely non-intrusive to the gameplay.
Thank you for the reply - I appreciate the information. Not very knowledgeable about this stuff. After installing the guide mod my saves are working - thanks again.

Unpopular opinion, but what Kirin did to Ayane is much worse than what Haruka did to Kirin.
There's a recency bias going on + the undeniable truth that people who have no charm are judged more harshly. (Example below)
Haruka is no different from Chapter 1 Akira by the way, the only difference being the negative Rizz and lack of plot handsomeness (She's hot, but she isn't Akira hot in a way that bends people's common sense)
Also, I wonder what a rapey predator would do if she found out a cute little girl had a rape fetish, and how would her mother react if she found out that something happened.

Okay, first off, what the hell happened the past 24 hours? I was too tired last night to write up a post right after going through the update, and now I check and there is like 5 new pages already LMAO you guys are making it really hard to keep up 
Anyways, a lot of the stuff I wanted to talk about has already been discussed enough I feel like. Especially Moonflare's post basically covered 80% of what I wanted to cover (down to using many of the same screenshots I made), so I will refrain from just parroting an already excellent post. However, there were a few things I would somewhat disagree with still.
I also don't really agree on the excessive Kirin hate, though this is a tough subject and I do get where Moonflare is coming from and absolutely respect the arguments.
However, I want to point out that, as someone already said, these events take place regardless of the blackmail storyline happening or not, and therefore have a significantly different impact for these players (to which I count myself), which should be respected as well. I get it, canon, not canon, but I just want to make people aware of that fact.
Anyway, I feel like I drained my cognitive energy completely by thinking about this whole event for this long, so all I have left is a couple funny comments shitposts that I wanted to make:
