At this point, i advise you to download autovn mod and start from the beginning.
Not because you are wrong but because the things you know will increase the enjoyment out of your playthrough.
Since you took a break from the game for a few months, i guess you are fine with not being up to date with it. Starting from the beginning would be the advice i have for you.

Comiies I'd actually recommend you finish to the current update before starting a new playthrough. There's probably more in 0.54 because it had its own set of reveals, but people call 0.53 peak for a reason, and you can read the first event in the game in a new way after playing it. Though feel free to autovn the playthrough if you don't like the sandbox. We haven't had any more scenes locked behind 3000 ayane love since the scarf you should already know about.
And yes please spoil that image. People appreciate when you make long posts optional and easier on mobile bandwidth.

Friend, we don't just say to put it in a spoiler because it's necessarily a spoiler, we say it because it's better as it takes up less screen space, allows us to choose whether or not we want to see the image, and draws more attention, besides being less irritating as I said.

This may have been my fault, I posted a portion of an earlier post regarding Chika. It may have caused something of a stir. Did NOT realize that might happen
But the replies essentially invalidate the Chika thoughts anyway I suppose

I'm taking my time to get my thoughts out on 0.54 but I was gonna say this update has potentially made me like Chika again*, just like how 0.46 made me like NuMaya again.
* Provided this is actually the reason Chika's been a crazy cunt and the rabies stops now that she's able to get control of her feelings instead of being obnoxiously dense.
Sorry Rin, but she's gotta fix herself before she can help anyone else. Sorry you're catching strays, but hey news like this will probably be the reason you're gonna get laid by Akira this cycle after your next depressive wave. I can't imagine Sel made the effort to get Rin new underwear if we're not going to see them.

I was having those same thoughts earlier. I didn't realize in when reading it first that one line of "...." would be considered all the response Chika needed during that scene. Its certainly nice to have clarification on what the intent of the scene was, cause I apparently clearly misread Chika's mindset to a certain degree.

Simply put, what he wanted to convey isn't being conveyed in the way he wanted it to, and since he doesn't have an editor, he just publishes it as is and instead of rewriting it, he blames it on his readers - cause he can't/won't rewrite it.
Also, to be fair, LiL is a freaking miracle of quality overall for being all first draft. It comes with the genre (him being an ass about it is personal flavoring though).

O I agree we all wouldn't be here if the writing wasn't incredible. I'm still pretty new to LiL but the overall quality is self evident. A story told this long over this length of time is bound to have peaks and valleys of some kind.
With the clarifications I now see what he was going for and I'm all for it. I didn't even think the scene was "bad writing" just perhaps somewhat murky in Chika's precise motivation. On first pass it I mistook it for selfishness. Its now clear it really was Chika acting in good faith in accordance with her Violent Sadness realization, which is great.

Well, having already covered the part where I can't really care about Chika as I once did due to fatigue, I'll say this:
That Selebus thinks this is growth is ridiculous to me. Chika's growth was in her previous event, her "violent sadness" was the first event in years that I truly enjoyed Chika as a character, it was amazing. But this missed the mark SO BAD based on what he wanted to convey, and what he actually wrote.
