I believe that event is Mother's Milk.
Has Nodoka ever done anything smart or will she ever do? Because I am not up to date yet but the glacing is getting very cringe. Her "smarts" boil down to convinient superhuman (Script reading) perception, the rest of the characters suddenly having the intelligence of a toddler or she figuring out everything off screen magically. For the "smartest" character she just does the dumbest shit all the time.
Love this story and have been here for a long time (Recently catching up) but man. I am starting to just ctrl every time I see her on screen.

Just finished 'All That's Left are Stars', so...(Actual spoilers to big parts of the game, do not read unless you're done with 0.53!)
Mini Rant incoming:
Ouch. Literally wept. I felt like fucking Lestat from the Vampire Chronicles, just weeping more and more as each new fucking blow of the hammer hit... I thought I was deep in the feels after the loss of Orig Maya...I thought the faux loss at the start of Chapter 2 was hard, then her real death, etc, whatever...but holy shit I was NOT prepared. I've managed to stay like 99% spoiler free, thankfully, cause going into this blind is perhaps one of the most enthralling pieces of literature I've ever experienced.
Every single time it jumped forward two months I felt a growing horror. The game makes it clear that any situation that is too good to be true is just that...so seeing that Akira can actually BE a good person, that Ayane gets her dream come true...I knew exactly what would happen. That Himawari would show up, explain they were never meant to be there, etc etc. I fucking knew it was going to happen...
And then it did.
I had to stop playing last night once they made it to the beach, it was too late, and I was already down from THAT stuff happening, so when I picked it up tonight, I figured...couple character resets, some lore drop(And what lore it was!), and we'll move back to the story. Akira and Ayane will have a path forward...
And then..."I'm sorry" as the opening verse of "all that's left are stars" begins playing and holy fuck I was not ready. I am devastated for these poor fictional characters. What a fucking song choice. What a fucking moment.
Mild Context:
I'm an author, I've written nearly half a million words over a 5 book series...I've hurt my characters, I've killed them, I've sacrificed them, I've trapped them in a permanent timeloop. I've set the stakes so high that only the permanent ego death, the sacrifice of everything the MC is/was/could-be is enough to end the tragedy and save the lives of his loved ones....
And it wasn't until I finished "all that's left are stars" that I felt what my own readers felt. I think I owe them an apology, cause holy shit.
Himawari is really going through alot for her parents...the pain she went through stripping them of what amounts to their happiest memories, to save them from years of pain...fuck. Devastated. Akira fighting to not lose the memories? Peak. Ayane loving her daughter enough to trust her, even as she strips her of her happiness? My god....
I'm actually gonna take a few days after that before moving into 0.54. This is the kind of thing that sticks with you, and I think the moment deserves it.
And that somehow this is really only like the midpoint of the game? Insane.
Just...holy shit. I saw a few comments about 0.53 being some of the best so far...you were right.
TL;DR - Gonna nut punch Selebus one day. Donate to my GoFundMe so I can fly to Japan and do that sooner, rather than later.

If I was Sel I'd be tempted to add in some sort of intermission or something to prompt the player to let it sink in. The month long break did that for current update players.
Just make sure to finish 0.54 before you decide to take a several update break if you're one of those.
That's actually a really good idea. In the future I imagine players will move on immediately, and won't get the full impact.
I'm definitely too far engrossed to take that long off, thankfully...just a few days to really let this one sink in. There are few moments like that that can exist for people, and that this one came from a Harem Parody Horror VN is honestly astounding. It deserves it's moment.

Bro, i used to play your android port back in 2022 thinking you were the author of the game and i was like "yo this guy is actually a genius" and then found out about Selebus. You are still a genius to me, just in a different way. But anyways, thank you so much for working on this amazing port, i would have never discovered the game if it wasn't for you.

For example, we don't actually know what Sensei wished for. Just that wizard Maya was the result according to Himawari, and fucking her was his choice after intentionally keeping her isolated and dependent on him.
It is doubtful that wishes come from nothing, though. Resources and gods seem limited in the Wishing Well. Maya and Nao-chan likely came from something or some things, and Nao-chan at least seems to be "[TEMPLATE9]".

I tried it for like 30 minutes before I put it down.
It takes very hard from this game on some overarching themes, which made it kinda hard to digest because it just led me to drawing comparisons to LiL constantly.
The MC is an absolute dickhead, and he's so young that there's no good reason for it, he's just a miserable cunt to be edgy.
To be honest though "edgy" sums up the whole of what I experienced, it just felt like it was trying too hard and jumping too many guns for no reason.
Maybe it gets better later on, but I thought it was flat.
Tbh, considering I only started playing from like v 42 or something plus I downloaded it from Itch initially which had a few previews that rang a bit of alarm bells in my head. I initially concluded porn with pretty good plot with horror/psychological scenes that wouldn't be the main focus. I never expected for interesting plot that just distracts me from fapping straight upThanks for this. I kind of got the impressions that's the case from some of the comments and reviews for that game, so I think I know what it might refer to.
The cringe part is mostly about the MC that I found utterly uninteresting and just the initial vibe I got from the characters.
Which is obviously not very fair to judge so early into such a long game. I vaguely remember not immediately hitting it off with LiL either, though the game kinda also looked worse back then (old heads in here still remember the character sprites).
And as I said, I didn't mind the style. I liked it in Tropicali good enough and I'm not insanely picky. So I'll most likely just give it another go.
I won't let myself get spoiled though, but thanks for the suggestion!

This one was no exception really, it was initially just seen as a rage bait VN harem parody, that essentially played like a typical harem but subverted your expectations.
I'd imagine that the average/typical initial experience of most of the thread dwellers on here was something like:
"Oh this game seems good, let's see what this is all about. Damn, the characters are cute, the writing is pretty decent too. Oh fuck, shit's going down already, neat. *unzips pants* *FUCKED UP THINGS HAPPENING* *pants getting aggressively zipped up* NOPE.EXE"
And then you just eventually stay for the story and kind of just theorize what's actually happening.
It essentially turned from a "Anime isekai parody harem horror" game into a "Sherlock Holmes if it was set in a weird alternative universe and Sherlock was a depressed piece of shit with childhood trauma and strong Ephebophilia" game.

A quick question. Just started You and Me And Her and it is...boring. Does it improve - and I mean improve ALOT? I dont want to stay with a game thats going to be as slow and plodding as it currently presents itself.
