It's me again, the big Ami fan. Me going through this update knowing all the Ami slander that will come out, and knowing it all to be true still love her anyway.
I've gone from curious in the start to dying to know, regarding whatever is happening to Nodoka and whatever else is happening with the upside down house. These pieces that are taking years to fall into place are, killing me.
There is also the possibility Nodoka is talking about the gate, not a house (also please take note that the torii Himawari, presumably, shows us is by a lake).
Also about toriis, since I started, there's a possibility that Kumon-Mi itself is the space in the middle of the torii, a space between the real and the supernatural. I didn't think about this when I first read it, but take a look:
If only Nodoka wasn't Nodoka, cause it's very compelling to see someone literally fighting the world with only fragmented memories of past selves as allies. Each being erased and leaving scraps forward so that one Nodoka might eventually crack the mystery and make their efforts mean something.
It hasn't been confirmed, but it has been implied so many times that we have to consider it. Sekai died in a car accident, and yet Akira has multiple thoughts involving suicide since the beginning of the game, including the thoughts of what happened to him after he jumped, and who found the remains. The very first event ends with him jumping from a rooftop, and the happy event "baby finches" also ends with him going to jump again (assumed).
From the last update, it also begs the question of what would've happened to an Akira that never had a Maya (could have led to suicide right there), or what would compel a Maya to wish for a world that never advanced with Akira in it. Wanting to turn back the clock, as it were, is often a response to something bad happening and she's literally Akira's wish - what would be strong enough for her to wish it other than him leaving?
Obviously he could have just abandoned her, but would he? Suicide fits here from the amount of aforementioned evidence.
Still, at the end of the day this is all a possibility. One that makes a lot of sense, but it hasn't been confirmed.
I've seen someone mention the TSSs, and the possible answer is that because 23 is going down, the gods are trying to get a wish from people before the end. Akira and Maya are no-go, since they have already used theirs. But the other can still make contracts, and everything in 23 is overly sexual because of Maya.
Wow, what an update. This big of a plot twist about the nature of the world reminds me of the Honkai Star Rail 3.4 update with how it revealed the true nature of Amphoreus.
I think there cannot be 0.53’s scale of impact without all the stalling and Sensei running in circles. That’s why I held my breath before criticizing his writing
I've been preparing a new install of the game to be more resistant to future reinstalls so my tools and game music playlist don't break if I have to do it again in the future.
I've also been wanting to do a new playthrough since my goals with saves and screenshots changed and trying to salvage them would be slower than just replaying the game again. This update dropping as much lore as it did has just solidified the choice, we have a very useful perspective to read old scenes with again.
For example, the starting narrator is like 99% Himawari, and that it's probable she's the one who moves the real Maya wishing Sensei into Terminal 23 after he was dormant for the longest time.
So many things that she talked about during 0.53 are in that first scene's narration. How she wants to immediately tell him she loves him, not romantically of course. That she loves that he's here, that we're here because she's been very very lonely. That she thinks we'll come to despise her in time. That this is her job, that she was chosen to be his mysterious anonymous narrator, that she wants to meet for real. That she knows this world was made for him and him alone, but that she can't tell you who made it nor why. And that if 'we' close our eyes she'll be there annoying us every step of the way.
I'm gonna try document screenshots in a useful way this time, basically have a save for every event and see if I can keep tags on every little piece of lore that appears. RIP my old 3324 screenshots you were made so I'd learn how annoyed I'd get screenshotting a quicksave label and clean it up properly this time.
Depressed Akira after Sekai dies: God, I sure wish I had a cute loli gf that would cheer me up right about now.
God, the wishing well or idk what: Say no more fam.
There were similar levels of evidence for Maya not being real either, and we saw what just happened with that.
There's always the chance that Maya wasn't stretching the truth about Noriko before she met Sensei again. You might even argue a tool like Noriko who would never stop searching for Sensei would be useful for finding the real Sensei between worlds, before you drop him into 23 as part of your great plan.
There's similar levels of shenanigans for the Sakakibaras, that image of an angel protecting Sana is gonna come back, as well as that dark ghost

Yeah, but what I'm getting at is, Himawari is showed in a eerily perfect way, so her judgement about Niki being an anomaly for being too «perfect»... girl, you are!
If Niki isn't real based on that, then nothing is... oh... I think I get it.
one of the best update in years...
straight and direct answers, great emotions.
but damn some EMOTIONAL DAMAGE... maybe Sensei and Ayane had forgot about this all for a time, but I don't and I won't.
