This game is probably one of my top favorite games. Personally, it's lacking more futa content, but overall, the game is dam good. Each time I go dark, I wish I could take over the whole business ruuuuun the whole town to a new level of darkness lol. Good stuff devs, good stuff.

When people access the Early Release BETA version of the game, 2 things happen:

1. People who download the hacked stolen copy experience errors like they did for 0.12 when it was hacked and released on here before it went public.

2. It makes us not want to bother doing any more work on the game when people pirate it. We rely on donations from subscribers. Without those, we cannot afford to work on the game. We have to stop and work on something else to pay our bills.

It's up to you and your conscience. Not judging anyone specifically, but Jamleng and I spent 4 months trying to make these new events the best they could be.

Our subscribers feel ripped off when hackers pirate it and post it here before it is ready for prime time (public release is due Aug 18).

Personally I'll be waiting. It always feels more worthwhile to have the bugfixed version rather than dealing with all the problems that come with the pirated ones that get leaked here.

HOWEVER, seeing how you chose to address the leak I wanna bring this up: why a 1 month delay? You guys are on an extreme of the bell-curve when it comes to devs doing public releases. Most projects that I've seen only make people wait a week or 2 for a public release, hell some like STS only make people wait a day and that guy still rakes in cash.

When you put such a large time-gate in place, some people will want to just take the pirate version. I get being a smaller project you want more benefits for people who are paying you to incentivize/reward them vs us parasites who are too cheap/broke to pay, but I think 1 month is just a counter-productive. Honestly I think time-gates are like DRM: they're there to protect the developers, but the more intrusive they are, the more people will want to break it/pirate it just to avoid the headache.

Putting this in before someone says "just be grateful they're doing a public release and interacting with us at all", I get that and it's nice. But this is a pirate forum for porn games, this would end up here eventually; case and point, we already have a leak. And seeing how they're choosing to interact with us, I want to try and help them and their game to be successful. I genuinely think that removing or weakening barriers of access will help products prosper more in the long term, though I can understand trying to protect your short-term investments to reach the long-term. It's difficult balance to strike, and ultimately not my decision to make, but I figured I'd offer my thoughts regardless.

I am one of their subscribestar members and I would never share my game file because it is my precious also what's mine is mine and mine and mine. and mine and mine and mine! not yours! but seriously Jamleng and Xo Mo, work really hard on L.T.A and that wouldn't be right to do that to them

100%. I don't plan on even playing the game again until it was all the way complete because I wasn't enjoying the writing and story development for both routes that much to begin with due to personal tastes, but the "pay extra to play this new build early" model itself is just as scummy as piracy. A better Patreon model would be to give each tier access to the build at the same time but for the higher tiers include custom HD wallpapers or something, like my dude RareAlex does with Secret Care Cafe. There's other shit you can do without relying on a pay more to play early model.

A general message:
I was gone for a few days, didn't even notice this happened. I've got a different viewpoint on piracy than XoMo does because in my mind I always made the game to be free for everyone anyway. I've also pirated plenty in my life so what goes around comes around though we're not a company/corporation which makes quite a difference I guess.

I always thought that if people liked our work they could simply throw us a coin which in return helps us out with paying the bills.
Another note that I've stated on Subscribestar earlier this year is that I've personally learned a ton during the last few years of creating this game and I want to take it to the next level thus I've been saving quite a bit of money from the donations to open up an actual "indie company" early next year with a rented office space, a couple of extra people and some expensive PC's to create a new game which will hopefully be better, even higher quality and with a faster update schedule.

Having said that, we worked really, really hard on this game thus is became literally one of the biggest adult games within a few years time which is absolutely nuts. This update alone, especially the last few weeks we've been crunching. Eat, sleep, work, repeat.

Our long early releases is mostly to give back to our subscribers that help us out.
Now if the game was making insane bank, I wouldn't even do early releases at all but since it works and we still have to pay bills I don't think we really have a choice there.

We also got banned fairly early on on Patreon and that is a huge blow as it basically means 30 to 50% less income because the majority of the world don't even have credit cards thus are not able to sub.

Make no mistake, creating games is incredibly time consuming, stressful and not as easy as it seems. There's a reason most games get abandoned and 90% barely make any money at all. Even this game, while pretty damn successful, I would be making more money if I were to go back to my old job or to choose another job, call it a work of passion with hopefully more growth in the future as that's always been my plan.

Anyway, it all didn't start about money for me and more for fun and to get my creativity going during a fairly depressing Covid time. The game did get way longer/complicated than I ever imagined though and basically turned into 3 or 4 full-time jobs done by two guys.

I'm not sure why I'm writing this but I felt the need to make some clarifications.

As for the leak of the LTA 0.14 - BETA:
Just a word of warning: The beta version is fairly stable and a bunch of bugs were already fixed but it does need more work on different aspects of the game and I'll get to that after my short break which will be done in about 4 days. Don't expect me to upload the game on here before the official release though which is August the 18th. For the best experience, it's advised to wait until then.
