I'd like to preface by saying this is meant to be an appreciation update to SweatyDevil 's Mod. Not at all done in malice but as rather a token of thanks.

What started as quick modifications for myself like making the walkthrough dynamically togglable, then small punctuation/capitalization fixes to the patch.. Grew once I saw several people whine about wincest and was suckered into doing the if/else statements. Part of me wishes for that time back. Holy hell. I understand why SweatyDevil was like "nahh, I'm good." Anyways after a few hours of copy pasting >.< I now have no choice but to share with you all kek.

All credit to SweatyDevil, without his mod I wouldn't have bothered. (Though, I likely woulda made a dirty patch for myself to avoid the cringe Chloe "So you think it's normal, two friends having sex with each other?" )

Anyways all power to SweatyDevil he can roll this in to his mod, adapt and change it to his liking or ignore it.
No intention on competing or anything, again just wanting to enhance user experience for all in the same way the game has been enhanced for me with his mod.

The renders in this game are spectacular and it be a shame for the crummy writing to get in the way of people being able to enjoy this game.

Hope people find the small changes decent.

Note: if you're installing this after sd's mod you'll likely wanna remove /game/gu.rpy and /game/gu.rpyc

Note2: I have yet to finish the game lol so if I've made mistakes by bad but I'll totally blame SD cause its based on his mod kekekeke. I kid lol. Just overwrite with sd's mod if in doubt he actively maintaining his mod good lad

Thats correct. I have no intention to makemy edit for teh patreon at this time, because it seems like the steam version is the one that will be moving forward. Unless the Dev reverts course and keeps old charlotte during S2 Production.. but I think that's unlikely.

What you'd need to do is use SweatyDevil's Mod , while he mentioned not maintaining anymore his mod still currently works for Steam and Patreon. For patreon just choose the patreon (Old Version v0.11) one as the code is quite different.

What is the difference between the Steam and Patreon version?

Steam doesn't allow certain content to be on their platform, like incest for example. Since they have to adhere to laws and regulations.

Hence why studios tend to clean up some of their content before releasing on Steam.

Patreon also tends to have weird quirks, while Subscribestar is just the wild wild west

They did so because of Patreon (Some devs skate by for a while until they get reported ) , they changed the school setting out because of Steam.

Or like some people they seem to be misinformed about what Steam allows

EDIT: I have only heard of adult games being banned because a character looked underage so far on steam.

I dont know I have directly played the Steam version and it got me hooked. Not sure what I am missing but the steam version seems good enough. Should I be playing the older version? is there any difference in story or other things?

It doesn't matter at this point, if you like it then keep playing it.

We don't know if the dev is going to make Patreon and Steam equal, as in both being the exact same. Patreon has "high school" related content, Steam doesn't like like sex in school, and so on.

I mean the dude is still wearing his varsity jacket in the Steam version which is usually high school jocks and shit, I don't ever remember assholes wearing their "varsity jacket" in college.

Regardless, Season 2 will only be on Patreon until it's completion then it will go to Steam according to what has been said.

The very old versions like 6-7 versions ago (over a year ago) at this point now had incest, this is why everyone is so pissy...

I think the dev got scared of the game getting rejected is why so many changes go made, and didn't really do much research on what is allowed on the Steam side, Steam is a LOT less restrictive on the content they allow, incest, rape, blackmail and so on. They just don't like underage (like most places), sex in a high school (implies underage), and content that is copyrighted that you don't have permission to use, like posters of movies or a movie playing in the background, and also AI or "real person" generated content now as well.

If you haven't played might as well go steam, that way you lessen the chance of an upset
While afaik no confirmation by dev, it's probably a safe assumption that S2 will build on changes made in steam release.

- Charlotte Model --> New Model. Different style. Was more artsy/punkish now shy/innocent vibe
- Charlotte Arc --?? Butchered. Was gonecame back after years, now a confusing mess.

Some other stuff too but really its the setting / charlotte arc that has people booming.

I still suggest the steam just cause, again, moving forward I think they'll retain the work setting + the new charlotte model so why get attached to things that no longer will exist?

since you seem to have some coding knowledge, do you know how to remove the gallery unlocker in sweatydevil's mod? i HATE when gallery unlockers come without a toggle.

i deleted gal.rpy and .rpyc, but that didn't help. also tried deleting the persistent file in the /game/saves folder AND the persistent file in the /appdata/roaming/renpy folder, and then restarting the game, but now everything is permanently locked.

Without rehashing everything, mostely its the model change and the gapping holes in the story. If you started steam version charlotte lives in the attic, if not she isnt there at first. and the change to steam has her there at the start but the story still acts like she was away and they even make refrences to her welcome home dinner and the dinner is sorta hyped and then skipped alltogther in the steam version. (code still present just commented out, they never rendered it with new charlotte afaik)

Looks like windows... you missed the persistent in the sync folder. so that's 3 deletes total.
btw my edit of his mod doesnt include the gu.rpy /gu.rpyc and allows you to unlock all, or unlock specific scenes or revert all unlocks. though yeah, if your playing patreon then uhh delete delete delete

Nah, you're not tripping. Only gu.rpy and gu.rpyc are unlocking the gallery so Jawz deleted wrong files.
