VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Life with Mary [v1.0.2 Final] [LikesBlondes]

OK, now that I have finished the game, a few thoughts.

Overall, decent, more realistic story than most of the VN out there. Seemed to be written with very few grammatical or spelling errors. Good sense of humor and mentioned three of my favorite things, Discworld, Lemmy Kilmister and Idiocracy.

The way everything turned out was fine but just like the GOT tv series, it seemed rushed at the end.

Finally played a completed game. What can I say? Not a Nolan level scenario but I felt to play some cheesy loving story and I'm not disappointed. It was actually enjoyable.
Pros:
+ Main LI. Mary. Sweet, pretty, petite young woman with wide personality
+ Visuals. Good. Not best but they are pleasant for eyes
+ Believable "fall-in-love" story
+ Choices and option to be faithful
Cons:
- MC lacks personality
- Kinda rushed ending. I'd enjoy to see marriage and "10 years later" or smth
- No music or sounds

The game has good graphics, overall good story, but lacks porn stuff. Really if you wanted to just see a bit of porn, you better not start.
Also, there are choices but only one true way, if you pick another option she just packs her stuff and game over. Why bother having a choice if you can't play with that.

+ Story is plausible
- Way too slow
- Very low number of sex scenes
- De facto there're no choices

Very cheesy story so be warned but it works and scenes are very nice (except the usual actual penis penetrating pussy or ass always happens so that it isn't much seen) and graphic quality is good and text same and characters are likeable and game has several paths (four where 2 are quite same).

Recommended as long as can withstand cheesy story.

This game has many characterestics for a great game but unfortunately it fails to deliver

Graphics are decent - nothing special but no complaints either.
Story is expertly fleshed out. Characters are introduced early and then smartly integrated in the story later. I really liked that.
High point was the mention of Church of Lemmy - I started laughing in a fap game which I rarely do.
I tend to like games that tell cohesive story more the most people and this is such a game. And while there are newer and flashier games out there this is still worth your time.

I liked this game and really enjoyed it. The graphics are not the best in my opinion, but very cool, so 4 points. The story is one-sidedly very cool, but if it had a few other branches it would have been better, so 4 points. The characters are very mature and passionate, wordless 5 points. (Sex animations put a lot of load on my comp and run late) This as I know is the first game they created, so it will offer a very cool game in the future.

Good VN with good looking models, story and sex scenes. Good, not great. Still I was able to immerse myself into the story. The endings are very satisfying. Very limited on choices and very obvious as to what is needed to progress in the way you want it to, no walk trough needed. My personal favorite was the bff.

I got mixed feelings about this game,but overall it was enjoyable.

Pros:
1) Mary's personality is unique and cleverly made which in turn is a the biggest plus in this game.
2) MC is ok and realistic. Not a horny fucked up or something like that
3) Story was decent,nothing out of the ordinary, with realistic dialogues (with small exceptions here and there)
4) Animations were also realistic all the way to the face expressions

Cons:
1) Story could've been better and more captivating and it sometimes felt rushed.
2) Sometimes npc's expression was that of a shock/surprise when it wasn't the case (it was funny though)
3) Mary's model. It would've been better if indeed her looks matched more her unique character
4) Lack of any soundtrack.It would've been awesome if any noise came from the game

On a side note,not being able to bang Andy or Vannesa it's a little disappointing and Mary 's own sweetness was sometimes a bit too much.

Overall, it's worth a try.

Overall the game is a 5, is entertaining, it has a decent story from beggining and has a conclussion.
It can be a sort of love story where one of the parties involved is loving and caring, and affectionate.

Havent spotted cringy moments or dialogues so the rest of the experience doesnt get affected.
Visually is correct, it has some really good scenes with intimate stuff like her grabbing his dick and guiding him inside her.
Or when she is in pain she locks his movement with her hand, and pull him when she wants more. Those are details worth mentioning, help telling whats happening.

On the bad side:
The MC is supposed to be the protagonist but is kind of an empty shell, wearing almost always the same face, kind of robotic all the time, is like Taylor Lutner.
Theres definetly something missing, a little background maybe, better posing and some music. Animations are a good try, but dont add anything.
Theres also sex that happens and you know its finished cause they changed from close to laying separate from each other.
And the ends seemed a little rushed.

Recommended still.

Cons-
Very boring plot, really... pure love?
Where is pure love?
MC actually failed his old friend's trust and fucked his daughter behind his back...
And MC showed no personality at all, like a dead person.

I also don't see the attraction of the heroine.
The model is ugly, her mother is much sexier than her.
As the heroine, instead of using the ugliest model?
What is wrong with these authors?
And the whole game is almost only her sex scene from beginning to end...

One-way storyline, no choice at all...

Pros-
I didn't find out, I gave up halfway through playing.
Too boring and not sexually attractive to me.

Simple and enjoyable is for me what would best define Life with Mary.

From the visual quality to the relationship with Mary everything is very clean and well done. The secondary characters are also very sympathetic.

In short, it's a very enjoyable game to make and I think you won't see the time go by.

I highly recommend it and since criticism is easier than practice, I would like to say thank you and bravo to LikesBlondes for its work.

Well worth the play through. Very well done. I really enjoyed that the MC focused on one girl majority of the time and the contact with the friend was done tastefully while still being extremely sexy and enjoyable. I was a little off put in the beginning with the U/I and color choices but the writing was so well done that after a few chapters I didn't even notice or remember why I didn't like the choices. I am glad that F95 helped me find this title.

Not terrible but suffer in every aspect, the main girls design is kinda ugly, look like she got some shitty plastic surgery, the writing isn't great, the sex scene are kinda meh and the lack of any music or sound is always a huge downside.

Would not recommand this one, but of course it's just my opinion !

This would have been a solid 4-star if it were not for its rushed endings, the wasted possibilities offered by the different characters and the disappointingly low quality of its sexy scenes.

PROS:
- Render quality is above average. There were no weird grimaces or poses, and all girls are gorgeous (especially Simone.)
- The love story with Mary builds up nicely in the beginning. The MC is neither a creep nor an asshole and allows you to relate in a way.
- The UI and menus are really polished.

CONS:
A lot. I'll summarize them.

- The story was clearly rushed in the end, leaving some questions unanswered and lacking any content with some of the characters.
What became of Mark? Did he learn about you and Mary?
Why can you go to the movies with Jessica and then she just vanishes? That choice set a variable in the script that had no impact later. She was one of the sexiest models in the game, it would have been nice to get closer to her.

- The writing was extremely superficial. Little insight into the chars' feelings, simple descriptions, sudden jumps in time that seemed repetitive, everything about the ex seemed off (did anyone think anything of what happens with the ex made any sense? The way they interact? Their "conversations"?)
Also the MC is always cold as fuck; most of the time he doesn't seem to have feelings and answers in monosyllables.

- No music or sounds. This is a minor complaint but I think nowadays all devs can grab some free music to add to their games. It helps to set the atmosphere and I personally miss it when it's not there.

- The sex scenes were, IN MY OPINION, absolutely disappointing.
The only scene I found really hot and sexy was that one with Mary when they visit her father's house. From then on all sex in this game is reduced to those crappy animations, the least exciting thing you could use in a game and the bane of my f95zone existence.
I beg all devs, please stop using shitty looped animations instead of still renders. I'm tired of saying the same thing over and over but if a dev hasn't the knowledge or the gear to produce good quality realistic animations, stick to your still renders, for God's sake! I want to see different angles, I want to see Simone slowly taking her clothes off and flaunting that ass before the action starts. I want to see more facial expression and reactions. I want to see something attractive and hot, not 2 robots fucking in a loop and then it's over.

- The endings were mediocre. Short, with almost no information, not even an extra sex scene but just a few renders and that's all.

- A replay gallery is needed. I have been using the mod linked in the OP and it's totally necessary in order to know what content you're missing. If I hadn't been using the mod I'd never have known I was somehow missing a Simone ending.

I'm guessing the dev wanted to move on to their following game and just wrapped this up the best way the could. All in all this game is OK and deserves those 3 stars but it could have been way better.

This is an excellent game! there are verious endings which always feel right.
The dialogs are well writtenand the graphics are really nice.
It doesnot get boring even while multiple playthroughs for every ending.

I enjoyed this game. The plot is simple and “light” without some weird and overcomplicated shit. Renders are ok. Plus no grinding and boring mini-games.

BUT there are several areas where the game became misleading and\or that you have feeling that some concepts ware abandoned in the middle of game developing:

• The biggest mislead is the attitude of Mary in the mid-beginning of relationship and in mid-end of the game. In the first cause, she started to act like she is not interested in mc anymore as well is with him accidentally and ditch him for Simone or sb else. Then before the “young driving instructor” appearance and some after she once again acts as she not interested in mc and she looking kind of “guilty” like she cheated of him or have these thoughts in mind ( such as maybe do sth with a younger guy).
• Second is this weird innuendos about Mary & Simone attraction to each other. The game suggests that they more than friends almost from the beginning of the game but when Mary asked mc about a threesome she oblivious to her previous behavior. If mc chooses “no” she kind of relived and if he choose “yes” the she “must consider it”. And during the “action” with MC&M&S itself, she doesn’t seem to enjoy it as the previous hints suggested.
• Two characters, Andi and Vanessa, feels “abandoned” as it was more contend planned for both of them but devs changed their minds after some time.
• The part when mc & Mary go to her father's house just to find him f*king two hookers also should be better explained. From what it suggests it looks like Mary has a “daddy” complex and (because he didn’t care about her but fuck around, so she thinks that if she was one of his hoe he would “love” her) is one of the main reasons she is with mc.
• Lastly, maybe it is only my feel, the game appears to be quite vanilla at the beginning and after several starter events, I had a notion that maybe I should do some “rude” action to have other options. Only after that (around day 6) game gave us more “freedom” to choose.

A great story filled with excellent charaters that really makes you want to play the game.

Nice array of endings good and bad.

Sex scenes are very good and complement the story nicely(not too much or too little and not just added for the sake of it but inkeeping with the story).

The writing is top quality as the charaters "talk" like real people and react like real people would.

The only complaints i have are with the pointless "choices" in the first half of the game but they are easy to avoid as its obvious what to pick and they are dropped for the second half of the game, plus i would have liked the ending to be a bit longer.

It's not a bad story. I'd even say it's quite good so long as you choose the obvious options. I admit that I will pick up a spoiler or walkthrough for most VN's for the sake of finding the one or more optimum end results.

The low rating however is for the fact that the choices given are simply for dialogue, and are pretty futile. I already know the "correct" choice with minimal effort, and even attempting to steer any sort of path has no real immediate effect. There is even an early moment when an NPC is warning you to not lead the girl on, and without any choice at all you begin massaging and then snuggling with her. Any more level response only serves to make the MC look like a douchbag as Mary first looks at you with disappointment, and then the two of you immediately start snogging.

I get it... the title is "Life With Mary". We all know what the end result is supposed to be, but the options given may as well simply be limited to one; the "correct" response. It would be better to give the player the option to be the aggressor or the defender - if the player tries to cool it down, you can still have Mary batter away at his defences so long as her relationship points are high enough, and still continue the story. Instead, I find a lot of moments where I would play cool and then start sucking Mary's face.

Aside from the lack of real control, the story isn't bad, and the characters aren't bad. The immersion only fails when you try to swim against the current and so long as you avoid that you should like this game... It's just a little tough to call it a game when there seems to be little real control.
