Unreal Engine - Abandoned - LifePlay [v2023.04 Stable] [Vinfamy]

Pros:
-The dev of this game has strictly adhered to the rule of porn games being first and foremost about porn, and the wide array of sex options reflects that
-Random generation of characters is good and customizable
-There is an extreme amount of immersive potential in that real life city maps can be used and generated with many places to interact with

Cons:
-Because the dev focuses primarily on porn, expansion and improvement of the life simulation part of the game is limited
-The actual depth of interactions with places and characters is quite shallow and repetitive. Don't expect to be able to customize your home/business
-Very grindy for the sake of extending playtime

TL;DR it's a solid porn game but a mid simulation game

Mental gymnastics , The Game, should be tittle of this game. A mile wide and a centimeter deep, a big world with irrelevant interactions between generated characters, you are thrown in it, without any idea what to do.

But obviously this is a sex game, and your goal would be to get laid, but what is the point of getting laid if there is no depth in the relationships or in literally the place your character interacts with. Listen here, a world in a game, must to some extend "feel" real, for the characters that interact with it. This game is the complete opoisite of it, nothing "feels" or makes me give a shit, it's worse than an actual sim at this point.

The controls are confusing and the UI is completely unacceptable you won't know what's what and what is happening, there are stats that are supposed to mean something.

In conclusion the game is a barren empty sim, not visually impressive either, you'd have a better experience slamming two barbies together.

What can i say? Part of me wants to hate this game because it lacks so so much. It will be repetetive, unrealistic or annoying quite often.

BUT i always come back to this game. Like a drug addict. There is really no other game that even tries to achieve what this game provides. And the possibilities could be endless... if something is done.

In my opinion, the next dozen updates should only focus on gameplay, bug fixes and stuff like that. Right now we dont need more Sex Scenes lol.

If you want to spam buttons and actions, this is the game for you. The game is very similar to The Sims 4. But it's better to download Sims 4 50 GB to spend on your disk than to waste time on this game.
There are a lot of mods for The Sims 4. Especially for 18+
This game tries to surprise you at the very beginning, character creation is the fun part. There is no plot, just small quests.
Better download Sims 4. There are better character models, animations, the character's skeleton itself, there are bugs in the bodies and there is no customization of the same graphics. This game has been updated for a long time but it only gets worse

I want to give this game a higher review because the idea is great.
Many compare this to a more adult version of Sims. That's the idea of the game, I think. But it just falls flat. Fast.

Sims 1 is about 22 years old and it had so much more content.

LifePlay is just dead. Npc's are braindead. No Ai. No life. Just dead.
Immersion is gone once you have done something once. It's just same over and over again. It's like playing a russian made game, repetitive as hell.

It's buggy and glitchy. Characters fall through the floor. Characters respawn after every interaction.
I won't be surprised if/when it corrupts my save game.
After I updated my Win 10 it stopped crashing constantly. So that's something positive.

A regular day in LifePlay looks like this:
You go to work. Suddenly you are home having sex with your boss daughter.
Then you are back at work again the next second.
After 2 seconds you are back home again.
But instead it's your gf who you can't control. Who's cheating on you with your boss.. You can however control the sex "mini game".
Boom. Back at work.
And this was just 1 work interaction.

Next day the cycle repeats.
It could be the same again, or any other of the 10 scenes. But it dosen't matter since you have already seen them 10000 times.

It's endless spamming of the same events over and over and over and over and over again.

5? Years for this?
This is not a passion project for the dev. This is purely a cashcow. It's just low priority work.
Nothing else, and it shows!

The game is not terrible but not really that great either. First of all camera control could be better it should follow your character everywhere. Maybe something like the sims 4 style. Second character creation needs work it needs to be more simplyfied also need a way to see our characters cloths before we put them on so we know if thats what we want also better sexier cloths would be nice school girl mini skirts tank tops stockings Pantyhose, High heels. Also better hairs to look a little more atractive graphics just needs to be better. The size of the game is really to big to have all these problems. Sure it's a free game with free roam to do what you want but very hard to fap to something with this kind of problem. So if you have the space on your computer and looking for something to do this is worth the download and mess around with but to fap to not really worth it. I would give it a 2/5 stars.

The freedom is impressive, there are all kind of kinks and you also can play a straight person if you feel like that's not the goal but still you can, wich I like.

Once you explored the possibilities, due to the game early state, there is not much to do.

Pregnancy last very long it's realistic unlike most games where that's over within 2-3 days. Idk if that's good or not, a manual timer would be the best.

I would like some non-sexual content. That could help to build/keep some tension, climb up to a climax.

Keep in mind the game is still early. It is not even the time for balancing. And most of my comments may be irrevelant as the game moves on.

game is absurd, the dev is crazily ambitious and this project might turn out to be something big. in it's state it's a bit confusing, but once you get the hang of it it's actually pretty fun, updates are constant and the game is even open-source. the customization is mindblowing, you can even turn a photo into a face mesh, crazy stuff. really curious what will become of this game, gl to the dev.

Great game! it may look clunky and so at a glance but after having played with it extensively i must say it is one of the best games out there even when compared with those AAA games with the silky smooth graphics.

The game may not be as polished graphic wise but gameplay wise it is rather rich and extensive compared to whats out there.

meanwhile, i want to thank the developer Vinfamy san and all those which contributed greatly to the game.

this game is too good to be left as it is without further development at least on the modding side. it would be a crime itself to shelf it and leave it as it is.

This is one of those games that people criticize because admittedly, in some ways, it's very rough around the edges. I would however point out that simultaneously, the potential is quite high and they've developed something here that is easy to expand upon and easy to continue growing. Like it or not, you gotta respect that this is without question one of the most consistently updated large projects on this website.

What this game effectively offers is a simulated life with excuses for sex and porn sprinkled in. It can be an enjoyable experience where you can watch a character unfold organically and become corrupted or the like because their landlord or boss is interested in them.

However...

I'm giving this a 3 out of 5 precisely because the sheer amount of updates is becoming a weakness as much as a strength.

The issue in play is that basically every time they do an update with a new theme, there's new events that can befall the player. Rape events, interracial events, fantasy race events, incest events, swinging events, old-young events, etc etc.

It is becoming blatantly apparent the game lacks any scripting that causes events to trigger under certain conditions. Instead, events seemingly trigger entirely at random, and when the pool of events is as high as it is, this means that if you for example are interested in interracial events, the chance of encountering these is now very poor, simply because it's competing with everything else.

The result is it feels like every individual kink is losing out, because at any given time, they all have a 1% chance to be drawn since there really are enough competitors to lower the percent chance that low. Sure, there's some conditions in play for some events, but it's clearly not enough.

What this game desperately needs:

Screw kink of the month, screw new content, and take a step back and just focus on adjusting conditions for various events. Instead, take a step back and adjust the conditions for each event occuring so that the player isn't utterly bombarded with them. Someone needs to sit down, look at the events, and ask which would realistically be constantly occurring ones, which should be one-time events, which should occur once a week, etc etc.

As things stand now there's seemingly nothing limiting events, so someone with all modules turned on can expect nightly visits from vampires, constant invites to art galleries, and a number of conditional-yet-relentless events if you meet said conditions.

I still think this project has loads of potential, but it's hit the point it needs to stop blindly throwing new ideas at the wall, and instead take a step back to organize the damned wall into one coherent, functional piece where the individual parts compliment each other better. If it does that, this would honestly jump back up to 5 stars for me.

Let me get this straight - If I was completely objective and didn't love the game for its obvious advantages, it deserves 1/5 at most, because...
1) So far, the game is extremely laggy and broken - from human interaction/relationships/kinks/pregnancy to business management or misplaced characters talking/woohooing inside a wall/bed/table. And don't even get me started on the kids...
2) It lacks any sort of world non-human interaction except for buttons with text, time these buttons spend and stats they alter, and most of these stats don't do crap so far. Seriously, am I playing QSP? UE has so much more potential and i hope the dev recognizes it.
3) Time between updates - more than 4 years from now and the game is still in Beta? Judging by the patreon page, dev's income as of now is $1000/month. And that's minimal. I get it, life is different for everyone, maybe he couldn't attract enough attention, maybe he struggled - after all, making a decent game on UE is pretty hard, but hey, even that skeleton in front of the PC (from the meme) could get old and die a second time.
4) Modding is completely absent so far, other than couple fixes/scripts and char presets, BUT frankly i couldn't care less, because I strongly believe that fans shouldn't bother TOO much fixing the product they pay for.
5) One large flaw that really bonds this one with Sims - lack of any defining facial parameters of the races, most of the time it's the same caucasian face. Oh, and everyone has the same height.

Despite the fact that this game implements a ton of role-playing elements like stats, stat checks, quests, achievements and random events, its potential is squandered by lack of enthusiasm from this particular dev. Every update be like "oh so i made a poll about what little detail should i add to this update, fixed a few bugs" (what bugs, where? Most bugs live and prosper since 5.4 when I started playing).

Finally deleting it and never coming back, it's a cashgrab.

I came back to this game a year later to see what was going on, and to be honest, the game was relatively stagnant. There are several advantages that I can say have improved the game. The updated pregnancy mechanics are a big plus, as you can now have kids who look a bit like their parents, and the character customization change is a huge improvement over the old version. The disadvantages are still clear. Without the physics of the genitals and often poor animation of the sex scenes, a lot of the scenes look unnatural and the cuts are still a huge problem, and the game quickly gets boring, because nothing outside of the sex scenes is worth any groundwork. Starting a wardrobe is so intimidating that you often give your characters clothes that either don't fit well or completely ditch things like underwear or even shoes, or make your character look like they're fashion-conscious. Factory worker from the Soviet Union in the mid-80s. There is really no new map in the game and navigating existing maps can be annoying.

The ambition of this game is impressive. Create a character, plonk down in a city, and then just enter a sandbox experience. The problem is that the game is just a mess and while the animated sex scenes are solid (if glitchy), the life sim aspect is underdeveloped. Doing most things involves watching a progress bar fill, after which you are rewarded with money or minimal stat improvement. Sometimes you have to do a minigame - I mainly interacted with the stealth minigame as I was trying to play a home invader, and it was excruciating. There are also a limited number of voices and sounds, so the sex scenes will all sound the same very fast. I love the concept, and I feel a lot of affection for the game and the developer who is adding new animations and maps for fans of the game constantly, but its reach exceeds its grasp, and I feel the life sim aspect of the game needs more work and attention so that it isn't just something you endure to access the sex scenes.

This is very much one of those games where you see all the mod support, all the development love, the chatter, etc, and get convinced to give it a try only to find it's an absolute vapid hellscape that just makes you wonder why? Everything is disjointed, you're lucky if people's hair even works, it's a huge mess.

I remember when I played this game I was in ecstasy, and unable to stop. The game already has a tremendous possibilities and content, and just the game discovery takes hours. What I liked best about the LifePlay is the customizability. I suggest to browse the settings before you start playing, because you can adjust practically anything.
When I saw the animation variety in the sex scenes I was in shock... Until then I thought there is no game already what could show me anything new in the adult category. Well... I was wrong. You can throw away your kamasutra if you play this game, coz you won't need it anymore.
The gaming experience is okay, the texts and a few part sometimes a bit repetitive but it is still manageable. Even if you play many hours and days you will still explore something new. What bothered me yet there is too much place in the city with the same function. You can only do the same things nearly everywhere.

Although this game mostly has strong sides, the NTR part needs to be improved a bit yet.
The game already has a great Netorare and Netori content, but unlike the other NTR games where I usually had a male MC, in the LifePlay I was rather interested in more the female protagonist. So after I read the tutorial, I started to create and customize my first female Avatar. I didn't want an ugly character so I maximized her attraction and everything else what makes a woman perfect. My plan is worked because almost every male npc wanted to flirt with my avatar.
In fact I wanted to play the cheating wife or girlfriend, who makes her husband/boyfriend jealous, but instead of they leaving my MC, I wanted them to become later an obedient cuckold. LoL But unfortunately these are not possible in the game yet.
Turning on the Netorare won't help coz here we play the suffering one who is cheated. Being the bull with Netori neither works in this case.
I think there is still need at least a third option yet within the NTR, where the MC (trying to) being stolen by a third person. In fact the real problem is that you can’t even feel when your character is in a relationship, because even in the marriage the feelings are missing from the npcs such as caring or jealousy. I hope this will change in the near future.
But not in the least I want to pull down a game which made me addicted for weeks and which caused me so many good experiences. I feel this game will still improve a lot, but it is already among my top ten favorites.

Vinfamy is a great person and their idea of an open source adult life simulator is incredible.

Unfortunately LifePlay is not a game yet. It is an incredible concept that already allows one to create and put a character on a map of real city, but that is as far as it gets.
The main reason for me saying that is the lack of simulation part in LifePlat (4.25). Simply speaking it has bad UX.

User Experience
Currently game relies too much on custom content (pre-made content) and gives little to no tools in game for player to create content on their own (not via modding). Additionally the +0.002 to stat as a result of your actions in game is not immersive and it definitely doesn't feel rewarding.
This game needs to become more arcady. It needs to borrow from other games. It would be great if the way that the player is rewarded for their actions were to be addressed. Instead of +0.002 to stat – +2 EXP or even all +200 EXP. And make a summary of what you get for shoot/job. How much fame/money/etc. you got, what other rewards if any, maybe your relations improved with people that were involved etc.

User Interface
Another reason is bad UI. This game in grave need of UI overhaul. It is really hard to navigate through the list of options that are currently there. These options aren't grouped in any meaningful/convenient way.
Borrowing choice circle from Sims could solve part of it. Also it'd be great if the way that the needs are shown in the right corner became more easier to read without having to hover cursor above them to see the exact number.

Other
There is another hole that you get to experience playing this game and that is lack of jobs. I have not encountered any jobs other than the office one in this game. I have looked at old posts on GitHub and what I found was an old thread New career paths · Issue #76 where Vinfamy was saying that they will "more detailed, flexible and moddable system for jobs in v 1.10". I'm not sure if the new system was implemented, but based on clues that the game provides it seems like it weren't or it haven't accomplished what it aimed to.
Anyhow, it would be great to get some additional jobs like:

• Taxi driver
• Real estate agent
• Hotel service staff
• Casino staff
• Dog walker

They could provide for... you know... FAKE™ equivalents of those things.

Overall jobs don't have to be the way the office job is now. They could be rabbit holes that become what office now only during some FAKE™ events.

Conclusion
Hope that this game will soon receive much needed improvements so that the core of this game became solid.

I really like this game or rather the sex and customizing everything, actually playing the game though i would advise against for various reasons. I tried playing the game properly and it just doesn't work for now. Characters are inconsistent and it breaks "immersion" constantly. When it comes to kinks thankfully you can enable and disable what you want, with a game as customizable as this that's surprising. Sometimes it doesn't work, in my case mostly regarding orientation, I only like straight sex scenes but often when it comes to group scenes it plays bi or gay scenes for some reason. The best way to experience this game is to customize the characters you like and use the console to play the settings or scenes you want to see. As a sex scene simulator it works great I'd say.

A game with a lot of potential that ultimate requires several very harsh UI and UX sweeps before any more content is added. I cannot recommend anyone actually "play" this "game". This can best be understood as a tech demo and while I laud the developer for making this free and open source, I cannot recommend anyone actually play this game.

Cool life simulator. Extensive character customization options, many poses, the player can work, relax, communicate, be a thief or a model. And this is only a small part of the possibilities. There are a number of problems with the difficulty of the game, but the creator is constantly working to improve. I enjoy following the development of the game.
