I hope you're aware how ironic, awful and gross your post is. Regressive thoughts like yours is why people make patreons which get updated once every two months in the first place, so good job protecting them instead of this developer. And obviously you're right. If the premise of the game is decent it will also attract paypigs to the game in the first few months, which then causes developers to enter in a state where the narcissism takes over which is the cause of all these black sheep that the developer pointed towards as well. Obviously in this case, Vin tries to avoid this through hard work alone. This game essentially is a proof of concept trying to make a quality and quantitaively satisfying game within 150 days over the course of its inception. If anything, paypigs and 100k USD per month would most likely mean more content and faster or more stable release circles while also catering of what people like and want or otherwise Vin would betray their own initial vision and just become like another black sheep. The reason why this game is highly rated is that the developer tries to have both quality and enough and varied content while focusing on their own work ethic, which then reflects the quality of the game. We will see how this goes but i'm confident they can pull it off without becoming just like the others.
Honestly, you should take your time and read every comment thoughtfully if you can. Most does seem to be very valueable for the developer. And honstly, you treating them like a child telling them what to like you want to do. Its insane to me, the developer has 8 years of development expertise, so they're obviously aware what to look for. In my opinion, given what Vin said and what others say all feedback, no matter how much infighting has happened, can have its value and quality and may add towards the general vision of the project. But only people with a keen eye, development experience and actual vision and drive can be aware of this. The others just tell the developer to ignore every post and only look for feedback that entitled users want while threating the guy who actually works on the project like they're a child. So good job there bud
I don't know if his message was directed to the type of guys you are defining, who indeed are very valuable persons since my v0.2, v0.3 and even v0.4 changelogs contain modifications that these guys requested in the game's thread, for example being able to name the catgirl, modifying the way to open the navigation, adding grope scenes for Anna so it does not feel too rushed, etc...
All these changes came from requests you can find in this thread.
They helped me improve the game in a fast pace and I can't thank them enough.
Your response was very well constructed and I liked that you gave recognition to those who could be confused with
yoyomistro message.
On the other hand, he has a fair point. You have guys coming here on a daily basis, watching every single of my actions to find the slightest mistake to sabotage the project, because there was one day when I didn't give in their demands. Giving credit to the guy who created Mathilde's model is one of them, for example.
So I'll "take advantage" of your message to send one to these guys :
- Selling Koikatsu cards is illegal and is breaking Koikatsu's terms of service, which means that when you share a character card, everyone can simply use it and does not owe you anything. That's why they play the victims and take the moral high ground everytime they see a model they recognize in any Koikatsu game, that's what we call cognitive dissonance, as a well-known member stated it in the past.
- I did credit him in the v0.3 but at the same time I got threatened by private message from his community before they could even see the credits, which just made me decide not to credit the guy. That's how you deal with these people.
- Thousands of successful Renpy games are made with DAZ 3D, and no one has ever given credit to the creator of the Genesis 8, 8.1 and 9 models (even older genesis, actually), and I don't see any Koikatsu devs giving credit to the authors of their characters neither, as generic as they could look. But yeah my models look cool so they decided that I should be the only one on this platform to give credit to people.
I know that properly creditting the authors is important, but this does not apply when the market is illegal or when you paid for an asset allowing redistribution. You would think these guys took the time to inform themselves, but there is no legal background for what they're fighting for. Congratulations guys, your time was very well spent.
As
Egris stated and got laughed at in reaction by the guy himself, a guy spent his most precious time of the day to write the most structured review he could make to shit on my game. It's a private account made in 2022 who posted 2 messages in two years, and it's preventing any incoming private message (idk if he blocked me or if that's a global feature), that's obviously a mad guy using a backup account.
It's 2024 and these people still think porn game devs should be Ernest Hemingway's descendants in terms of story and gameplay. Also he's mad that some of my animations are inspired by others, and think that I'm not putting work on my game, without knowing that when a male model is replaced and the dick is twice bigger, I have to change most keyframes and modify bones positions and rotations, then create a logical set of keyframes to make the animation loop, which basically make me redo the whole thing and is taking me hours for some scenes, as I stated more accurately in a post that people can find in a previous page.
According to him that's an easy task, but surprisingly no one ever took the time to do what I'm doing (randomly download any Koikatsu game and you'll find the same pre-built animations delievered with the engine), I let you guys draw your own conclusion.
I don't really know if
yoyomistro was talking about these guys, but his first statement was very correct. There really are dudes who think they're the only person on earth. I can tell you that over time, you'll see 1/5 or 2/5 reviews popping up using the same argumentation axis. Most of them didn't even download the game, they're just here to shit on the project for the examples I mentionned above.
I'll keep separating their fake bad reviews with fair ones which give me elements I can work on, and I know they're reading me and preparing another shit fake review in response to this post, or because I said no to NTR or to credit a guy exploiting an illegal market.
They can call as many friends as they want to spam bad reviews on my game, they're just a bunch of haters.
