I would recommend you ignore the rude people. Specifically the unconstructive trash-talking kind. Don't get swept into the heat of the moment when you (rightfully) get angry at dumb comments.
Don't forget when you start threatening with adding NTR etc. that you're doing that because of 1 guy in the class, and not the class as a whole. In this case it's a handful of people, while there's a silent majority of hundreds if not thousands of people. Among those silent supporters, there are indeed people who dislike that scene (at least as long as it's not avoidable).
Even the nice silent supporters might've felt quite bad about such a scene if it is not to their tastes, and they were not at all expecting it. I don't think that's wrong of them to feel that way. Yet, they have stayed silent (not complained), probably hoping for it to be avoidable later or thoughts of similar nature. I don't think it's good to punish them because of the words of a few, albeit very rude, people on this forum.
