I would recommend having your save ... saved ... so that you can step back through the end review of chapter 6 to refresh your memory.Hopefully it's not another almost year until the next. A shit ton of content but in that long a time you forget so much.
I understand your concern, but you do realize that the dev logged over 2500 hours in this update over the last year. That's more time than they invested in their full-time employment (which pays their bills).A year and a half would be ridiculous and unacceptable. I'm hoping for this one there was some sort of difficulty that didn't allow the dev to work on the game as much as he wanted. Otherwise this won't get to an end while I'm alive most likely. There really should be for ones more than 2 months between releases like they do on new seasons of TV shows. In this case review more than 1 season back. Previous update was when I first downloaded this and by now remembered next to nothing. Some of us aren't so young we remember well...

I am not saying it will take 18 months, I am saying that I am placing a reasonable expectation of 18 months that is based upon the fact this update took just under 12 months. By doing so, should the update come 12 months from now, it has bettered my expectations. If it comes out in 8 months, even better. But if it takes 14 months, I'm still good.
However, remember the old venn diagram:
Since the game is free for everyone, there are only two options: make it
I prefer good quality.
- good quality with longer update cycles
- poor quality with shorter update cycles
Right. I just realized which threads I have seen you from, previously. I doubt this game is for you. There are patrons, so not 100% free. "Fast" would be like every month. A year is more like "glacial." Average on here is about every 2 -3 months. One of my favorites it every 2 weeks. Some I don't play show up I swear once a week or more.
Yeah, we're the toxic ones because we drag you in here to complain just so that we can rebut your claims -- and tell you to insult the other people in here while you disregard the thread guidelines as noted in the OP as we pull you in, screaming and kicking.Well here we go I'm probably going to get booted again but I am going to give MY thoughts on the update/game at this state and probably ignore the replays of the toxic fanbase.
I love the story, renders and overall concept. Yes girls are ugly but that is exactly what gives the game its charm and separates it from the cookie cutter games seen on this site. When I found the game I couldn't stop playing it sometimes even skipping over content (office trolls) just to get to main char content a bit faster. The bathroom and couch scenes were superb the computer project scene GODLY! Liked the museum visit as well. I screamed more more more! Then it came to a screeching halt with a vacation BS update but I did not lose hope, keep playing they will eventually go back home. Wait 10 months for an update and WTF!!!!! All the dev did is cut and paste bathroom, couch and computer scenes for the girl I actually care about and added an H scene for the older hag. And it took him 10 months (2500 hours) for all that lol. Slow clap...
Seriously? Lifeplay is a whole new way of playing and adds lots of new content every time - on the 8th, 18th and 28th of every month. I do skip through yakking. There are better models. 2-3 months is one thing, 6 sometimes acceptable, but 1 year completely unacceptable. Like WTF? I'll be dead before it's completed. I'm older and not in good health at all. 2-3 months is average. It would be better to be more often with not as much content so it can be remembered. Every week is ridiculous, but so is every year.Right. I just realized which threads I have seen you from, previously. I doubt this game is for you.
This game is 100% free for anyone. The game was free before people started donated on patreon and the developer has stated they would continue the game even if people stopped donating. No one pays a penny to play this game and the developer expects no money. It is free to play.
You are known to complain if a game takes longer than two months to update - thinking it should be given the "abandoned" tag even when a dev is active in the thread. And I know of whom you are referencing about the developer that takes about 2 weeks between updates - they can, but their updates are much less content and their writing is middle school humor (at best) and use very simple backgrounds and models. This game has highly stylized models and backgrounds with writing that is well conceived, deliberate, and follow a well-defined story arc with the last update - alone - being at least 3 hours or so of playtime, if you aren't just skipping ahead through content.
You are comparing cranberries to pineapples.
I will agree that 2-3 months is average (though I do not know if that is actually the case - I have never seen any supporting evidence). There are a lot of variables involved. Some games take longer, some shorter - and, therefore, the meaning of average. This one takes longer, where as you follow another game that takes 3 times per month. If I calculate the average of the length of time for this update to LOML (1 year, to round it out) with the game you mentioned (3x per month) ... that comes out to 3 months, and so they average each other out.Seriously? I'm almost 48 but very poor health. I'm on more meds than the average 80 year old. I had a heart attack on my 42nd birthday. I use a cane to walk. Can't be on my feet more than about 10 minutes or lift more than about 15 lbs. TBH I could die any time, but years to wait for me is too much. I don't like too much dialogue, it's boring. And I HATE "kinetic novels" no choices it sucks and isn't even a game.I will agree that 2-3 months is average (though I do not know if that is actually the case - I have never seen any supporting evidence). I don't know if the game you mention creates models or if it is mostly players with slider customizations on a 2ndlife/Sims framework - but from what I am seeing in the screenshots on its page, I stand by my thinking you are comparing cranberries to pineapples.
I am older, myself. In fact you will find a lot of us "old timers" (GenX and older) as fans of this game. I can't say what ages LarryK, Miðgarðsormr and Dragon59 are - but I'm over 50, and I think I'm the young one of the bunch.
Again, I doubt this game is for you based upon your expectations for updates and that you "skip through yakking." The first update was the shortest cycle at 3 months and I don't think that the developer would be able to match that without story suffering. I could be wrong - but I'd rather be wrong on the long side, rather than the short.
This is more an adult kinetic novel that happens to have sex than a porn that has a decision tree. A lot of the sex in this game is story-driven with Brooke's sex scenes probably least story-driven at this time. The Weird Sisters are quite driven by story, and Denise & Macy is darn near pure story-driven (both with the MC and with themselves).
I'm sorry to hear about your health - that sucks. But I don't think a developer is going to change their work schedule because of it.I'm almost 48 but very poor health. You are correct - I misspoke. I was wrong. I will update my previous posts. This is a game that is like a "VISUAL NOVEL" that happens to have sex. (EDIT)"Kinetic Novels" have no choice whatsoever. They are like movies.
Yup, I'm 62.I am older, myself. In fact you will find a lot of us "old timers" (GenX and older) as fans of this game. I can't say what ages LarryK, Miðgarðsormr and Dragon59 are - but I'm over 50, and I think I'm the young one of the bunch.
I think the definitions between Visual Novel and Kinetic Novel seem counterintuitive to me. Kinetic makes me think of movement, as in choices being made that changes things. Visual Novel reminds me of graphic novel, which is just a series of static images to tell a single story. For some reason the Kinetic Novel is static, and the Visual Novel is dynamic.(EDIT)You are mistaken about what Kinetic Novels are.I was mistaken - I should have stated Visual Novel.
KineticVisual Novels, by definition, have choices which effect the storyline - like the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books we read as kids. The only reason I mentioned the novel aspect was to reinforce that the storyline is a greater part of this game than many of the games available on this site. This isn't a meet-n-fuck type game. This isn't a "bang your not-sister in 15 minutes or less" kind of game.
For example - depending upon choices made into Chapter 6 - you could have sex with NO ONE (I believe), only with certain other characters/teams, or - like my choices allowed me - with all of them (well, not penetration with Denise - but penetration with Macy, some great ass play with Denise, and lesbian scenes with Macy and Denise). The storylines for each of these possibilities can make the sex scenes even more satisfying.
But every reply you have shared in this thread this evening only reinforces that this game is one you shouldn't have on your watch list.
I think we were conditioned to enjoy these better from watching adult movies when they had more fleshed-out storylines - from Behind the Green Door to The Devil in Miss Jones. My favorite actresses from that era was Marilyn Chambers and Sharon Mitchell.Yup, I'm 62.
It has been my perception that we old timers tend to gravitate more towards the story driven games.

You might be right about our formative porn. Back when they were trying to make movies that were explicit. I still look at some of those old classics from time to time. One of my favorites was Annie Sprinkle. I actually talked to her last year for a few minutes at my place of work. Other favorites from that era were Kay Parker, Annette Haven, Desiree Cousteau, & Honey Wilder.I think we were conditioned to enjoy these better from watching adult movies when they had more fleshed-out storylines - from Behind the Green Door to The Devil in Miss Jones. And yes, the definitions are reversed with what they should be in my mind, as well, and for the same reasons. It appears that Visual Novels came first, but the first title that its publisher used Kinetic Novel to describe did so because the publisher added sound. And so, we're stuck because a company decided sound was "Kinetic" for a visual novel with no decision tree. SIGH.
