VN - Ren'Py - Light of My Life [Ch.8 v0.8.2] [Naughty Road]

The game is sooo well done, but I can't play it. First of all, 50% of the time I'm trying not to cry because of the dark past and the loss of "my" wife, the game goes really hard on how depressive and lonely that feels and how you miss her but can't get her back.

The other 50% is the fact, that these two daughters are just so damn cute and loveable! I didn't even make them blood-related because that would've been to much for me (they're the daughters of my wife, their mom, but I am just her husband, only their caretaker since she passed away), still the game is so immersive that any sexual desires are completely wiped away, this speaks more to my actual caretaker side, of being an actual normal father.

Makes me wish this was a real game without sex, or at least without involving my daughters. Especially the little one, she's so cute, so naive, and needs so much guidance in her life.

I found this game in a thread where it was all about games where women would make the MC do naughty things (instead of the other way round).

But I still feel since she's just young 18 and very needy for protection and affection without any sexual experience, the MC somewhat becomes manipulative if he pushes towards being sexual with her. Because he at his age should know better, it's almost like low-key manipulation and abuse of her naivety, which is generally something that I wanted to avoid (not playing games where the MC uses drugs or mind control or any stuff).

Idk, I just can't play it with this level of immersion and cuteness. I've only played other games yet where family was related, where I played like a teenager boy being completely innocent. But from the MC perspective of being a caretaker (with a father-feeling) I just can't

But somehow I'm glad I can't. That's a line I personally don't want to cross.

Anyways, beautiful girls, interesting story (not so standard). Animations are a bit weak but that's not much of an issue. Like I said, I wish I could just play this as a normal game instead or without the daughters being sexually involved.

I have come late to this game, but love it. We don't need analysis of aspects or dissemination of whats good or bad. It "feels" good and sparks emotions at a basic level. I've cried, I've laughed, I've got turned on - it's like real life and all its intricacies. If awards were given out on this site or elsewhere, I would vote for this game at the highest level. But don't take my word (or anyone else's for that matter) for it. Try it yourself

I'm giving this game five stars. Why? Because for a VN is really solid. It's not a "cheap" storyline at all. It has many emotions involved thru and the game itself starts from one point to get to another by adding you as a user to the experience, which allow you to see not only your character but the others around you react to your actions and to the essence of the game itself, which in this case is about taking care of your family til' getting into incest with this last thing in particular not being forced thru the story, in fact, is something that happens because at one moment is almost unstoppable and somehow the narrative doesn't get dirty from it as a choice that you don't make, the game makes it, but makes you accept it and being honest, enjoy it. Maybe doesn't have that deep gameplay style but every other thing is cool. The art, audio and dialogues alongside the MC... is a very interesting plot that's worth a try, for sure.

I'm giving this game two stars because I do think the fact that incest being optional and that the lesbian incest happens without the dad's direct involvement is pretty novel. However I find most of it very repetitive with renders just being repeated with just small edits for ingame days at a time.

The fact that you can be absolutely terrible to your coworker but she still tries to have a relationship with you. Not sure why you can be so rude to her if the plot requires her to stick around.

And I'll admit that even I can be shallow about looks.

One of most memorable games here, some of scene carved inside my mind , like rain scene or cuddling along fire in cold, it is so beautiful and moving .
It has beautifully designed characters and alluring story and dialogues , I wish Naughty Road update it , would be awesome to continue Light of My Life journey.

Reviewing v0.6
Literally the best game on this site and it's not even close. The renders, the audio, the narrative, the verisimilitude, all of it is just so incredibly impressive. v0.6 even ended at a satisfying spot that doesn't leave you blue-balled. The worst part about the game is how long the wait is between updates, but I know it'll be worth the download.

This game was one of very few games that sparked my interest in this kind of games. Though I am not so sure today I would have the same taste if I replayed it, I'll admit that I really miss the dark and obscene feelings it's stirred in me.
I just hope Dev keeps adding new episodes of this inspirational game even if only once a year.

Masterpiece... tbh I'm not a big fan of incest games, they are quite similar and rather superficial. But this one is different: you are not corrupting your innocent little daughter - she 'corrupts' you. Not corruption actually, this is a story about love and about family. So well written, you simply fall in love with these characters.

I'll keep this short...

This goes past the "really, really good porn game" and straight into the art tier. Sure the models are "different" and I'll even admit it took a little getting used to, but now they convey a level of authenticity that pushes this game past maybe even the art tier into the "legit experience tier".

I am both astonished and thankful that this level of talent, hardwork, and brilliance has made its way to this medium. 20/5, it'll be a shame when its over. <3

That's my first review of a game in this site, i have to say this game it was in my follow list, i play it without any idea of what i expect, but the style of the characters and the story seems a good game.
Just the start when the developer says this game has a lot of dialog i was surprise and happy because i like games with a lot of dialogs and slow story.

The best of the game is the story, i really like the main story its perfect and love the way the developer tell it, and the fact is really interest to know more and more and see how it goes.

The characters renders are fantastic, i really love Macy and Denise. The unique style fits perfectly, and the backgrounds are fantastic, i really love the one in the rain.

The game is amazing i love play it and keep me focus on it, the story is simply perfect for me, i will follow really, really close for more updates.

And one positive point for me is the dev status updates in the Discord i love the developer taking care about the game and the fans

Started the game up thinking it would be like any other erotic visual novel, but was completely wrong.

Was blown away by the depth of the story, characters, and emotions portrayed through the writing.

Every choice felt like it has a meaningful impact on the story.

Great use of Daz 3D, some of the scenes were so well done with great lighting, focus, and posing, that it was almost like they where hand drawn illustrations.

Diamond of a game, that keeps you wanting more.

This game is one of the best currently on this website.
The models are really unique and well made.
The story is nicely written and not just rushed to the lewd parts
The only bad thing is that updates are scarce but at least when they do drop they are full chapters.

Loving it so far! Two main characters are great and the story is relaxed and relatable as opposed to 100 things happening at once that don't matter.

Music is nice and used to create a peaceful atmosphere. (I would like there to be vocals in future if possible, to really crank the emotional weight up).

The story was well crafted based on my choices. Needs/wants switch between characters so you are exploring both of their personalities and not primarily one for the whole 6 chapters. It also feels rewarding when you make a breakthrough with one of the characters.

The sexual scenes aren't great unfortunately but I guess that isn't the primary focus of the game. It's not a massive put off in honesty though as the story carries those scenes instead. They are exciting because X thing is about to actually happen ect...

Conclusion:

Just an awesome game that makes you care about the characters to a decent degree. (I think this could be improved by better music and gradual relationship intimacy, more holding hands, hugging ect.. but theres plenty of time for that to come). Not your average horndog game which is a pleasant difference, can't wait to see what comes next.

Amazing game. The characters are actual individuals which makes the story a lot of fun to actually follow instead of just something you skip through to get to the sexy scenes. There's lots of variety in the interactions with the characters, which helps the feeling that it's building towards something. This game comes across as a real labour of love and you notice that while playing.

The game has very accurate graphics even if the characters, unlike other games, are not supermodels, but the style fits perfectly. The narration is its greatest strength: it is very well done and the dialogues respect the characters and the daily reality of normal people in real life and often make you laugh; in some places it is so emotionally good that it even brings a few tears to the eyes. A great game!

Super story, that takes its time and it is very easy to become invested in the characters. And a bunch of quirky humor that will produce a few laughs.

Wow did this game surprise me!

I am not a huge fan of incest, I understand the appeal for others and since it is quite common in games I can deal with it in general, however the father to daughter stories are the ones that I have a harder time accepting for whatever reason. If not handled very well, they turn my stomach and actually make me stop playing the game.

At the same time, the previews for the models in this game left quite unimpressed and I didn't particularly like the character models so... why did I play it? it has a great score and precisely because it used different models, I decided to give it a try.

Boy am I glad I did....

Story
This game handles the subject matter very, very well. I found that the slow burn was great, the way that the father behaves, his dreams... all of it slowly builds into accepting the incestuous relationship in a very believable way, it never made me feel creepy or disgusted, but actually made me understand why the characters would behave in the way they do, it made me understand them as people with deep hurt and made me love them for that.

Not only that, but the story line with the mother and how that is handled, the small revelations about the driver and all.... oof... this game made me tear up three or four times and actually helped me work through some personal stuff.... some of it is extremely hard because it is so well written and it touches some very human points. Even if there was no sex scenes, this game would still be an easy 5 just because of how it handles the subject of grief and loss.

Models:
As mentioned, originally the models for this game really put me off, however the more I played the game, the more that changed. I ended up really loving the two daughters, sure they are not the usual supermodel characters we see in these games, however they feel much more like real women and that made the game so much better in every aspect.
The same can be said about the secondary characters, the only one that really did nothing for me was Sierra, but all the rest really made me fall in love with them.

The Sex Scenes
Wow.... this game had some really hot sex scenes, I really liked Brooke and her antics, the three office ladies too, and in particular the pregnant lady (finally! a game that has a proper "pregnant" tag, not just an pregnant ending, but actual pregnant sex!) , the slow build up with Denise and... OMG that scene with Macy (one of the hottest I have ever seen!).

I am definitely keeping an eye on this game, I added it to my steam wishlist and will be buying it as soon as it is available, a true masterpiece!

Easy 5/5 and highly recommended to anyone who doesn't mind the subject matter. Story was extremely well written, and captivating. Can't help but fall in love with the characters. The design of the character is pretty amazing once you get used to the non-standard models (and dare i say seem more beautiful now than my previously favorite adult game characters). To the author: Thank you. This was an amazing experience and I look forward to what's to come and your other projects.

A really great game what is worth every minute of play time.

Characters- Let's start with the characters. Both daughters are really beautiful. They are not perfect and that's what makes this game so great. They are realistic. (5/5)

Scenes- A lot of story and I like every one of them. No comments so far. (5/5)

Animations- Animations are very successful, they certainly do not look artificial. (4.5/5)

Places- Place designs are very successful. The atmosphere in the house is good, and the places where you go look very realistic (4,5/5)

Personal Likes- I'm not into chubby girls, but the youngest daughter (who is a little bit chubby) is still one of my favorite girls.

This Dev deserves a medal, he keeps everyone well informed about the progress of the game and he is very active in the community.
