As was explained to me a few pages back, there's a 1.5 year limit where, even if regular progress updates are released, the game will get tagged as abandoned. Of course, that's just a tag and as soon as an update does drop the tag gets removed. As with all tags on this site, the abandoned tag often doesn't reflect reality.

Statistically, the Abandoned tag reflects reality an overwhelming majority of the time.

But exceptions do occur - when the technical time limits are reached but the Dev has a good reputation, that's the source of most exceptions.

The way I see it, the short stint with the aboned tag will have some advantages: it will lure out lots of hibernating bears who will come here to shout "I KNEW IT! SCAMMER!". It will be very effcient to block them all at once instead of one here and one there. Like cat fishing (bear fishing?) with dynamite.

Don't forget people asking if it's really abandoned when if they look maybe one or two posts above they will have the answer

I'm sure it would be much easier for him if you had said him to look one post and then another one. Two posts sounds much and isn't worth the effort...

Yeah the other day I was in a games thread and someone asked if it was a harem game

I've always been a bit puzzled by the aversion to reading shared by so many players of visual novels!

Then Age of Empire's taught you wrong. While you might argue that a Catapult is simply a device to throw heavy objects that's not true to an engineer. Catapult uses tension to generate force, and a Trebuchet uses gravity and counterweights. The mechanics are different.

You're attempting to say that all Dating sims are VN, but that is also not true. There is a lot of overlap, and easy confusion, but in reality the two are not the same; especially if you look at the coding for the games.

To throw bears a great distance. Which of those devices would do the job more efficient? You know... for science reasons.

I would suggest the treb since the "extra" centripetal slingshot effect as a "booster rocket engine" and it adds to the total length of the throwing arm at the bears release point
