Nothing was promised. Ever. naughtyroad has never promised a release date.

And there is a difference between an atta-boy and criticism. You other options were (1) to remain silent and wait or (2) forget about it. Your unwillingness to choose those options is why you are being criticized in turn.

I'm also mad that we get like 2 updates per year, but only because i want to play games with this high quality content more often. Nothing personal with the developer, just sharing my feelings with everyone else who feels this way. Just don't harrass anyone, i feel you, i also want to play LomL every month and get the same content we get every 8 months or w/e. But its just not possible, this kind of product and update quality takes time, it is what it is, and its fine. Naughtyroad never fails to delivers, and its always great when the update came around and we got to play it.

Tldr: Don't get mad cause of lack of updates, be grateful cause we got games and devs like this one, they're awesome, just takes time to be one of the best.

The little boxes (images) floating around are patreon wallpapers.
If a face is crossed out it means the scene did not turn out as long/complicated as originally intended. Each stack of faces is one scene. More faces, more complicated scene.
