Would have rather waited 6 months for an update over a 5 minute "chapter" tbh.

I finished the update; it took me about an hour and a half. The quality is still top-notch, but honestly, I wish I had skipped it until chapter 10 instead.
There is something about having only one full main scene (not counting the numerous foreplay scenes) that makes it feel underwhelming, especially when the story ends in another cliffhanger. That is the second time I've played a game with a shorter-than-usual update, which gave me this feeling.
I do wonder if there is a way to remedy this without too much extra work. I was thinking that when Macy realized there were cameras in the storage room, we could have an option for a flashback, and the game replayed the storage room scene. It's pure padding, but if you haven't replayed that scene in 9 months, it's an easy way to prolong the chapter. If animes do it all the time, why not porn games, right? Also, it's a great diagetic way to replay scenes, especially underrated ones.
Anyway, as a Denise lover, I'm pleased with an entire update focused on her. Macywife will need to step up her game because Denise is way kinkier than her. Also, that is the first time I've seen a buttplug vibe chekhov's gun lmao

idk about anyone else but, i personally feel like im finished with this game. It was one of my favorites for a long time, but I feel I got everything I need out of it and I worry the story is simply going to drag on.
Gallery's a mixed bag. Some entries just load you into that scene and continue on as if playing, some scenes in the gallery offer no dialog at all... not to mention the names of the gallery entries sometimes offer no hint as to what scene it is, and I'm honestly not even sure if they're in any real order. It's a complete mess imho and needs to be redone properly.

Sounds like you unlocked some of the gallery without playing and unlocked other parts of the gallery by playing.
The reason why some run like the original scenes is because there is custom dialogue, etc, based upon player choices during those scenes. This was a request by many fans - including those who subscribe to the developer - because they wanted to experience the scenes with their customization.
As for the ones without dialogue, those are the ones that most likely were unlocked without playing - because since there were no variables set for customized gallery replay, nothing was included.
They are in order - they are grouped by people in the scene and then are sorted in chronological order within those groups.
The gallery is fine. The problem isn't the VN -- what it is, is PEBKAC.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion. I think its terrible as far as galleries go.

I am not stating an opinion, you are. And that's fine for you to state your opinion. However, what you stated was an observation and then you came to your opinion without accepting that you created your own problem. Had you played all the content, your experience would be as intended and expected. Because you decided to take a shortcut instead, you end up with the consequences of your own actions.
I am stating why what you found is what you found - and that your opinion about the gallery not being "in any real order" is incorrect, the gallery is in order - grouped by individuals, sorted chronologically within the groups.
I stated what is observable and fact. Again, PEBKAC.

That is fair, I do feel like season 2 is more like Light of My Life 2. The first season ended nicely, and anyone would be satisfied if the story stopped there. Since I'm more invested in the characters than the overarching plot, I'm all for "sequels"; the quality hasn't dropped an inch since its inception, keep'em coming, baby!
I think it's just about as much effort as I'm going to put in for a non-critical feature in an engine that offers a perfectly fine save system as well. I'd rather spend the one resource I'm always short on (time) on creating new scenes. In my mind, it's not even a close call.
