I've noticed that several events have infinite loading screens and thus cannot be activated. Is this the underlying reason why? If so, any way to work around that? Reloading and making new save slots don't fix this issue.

I beg to differ. Several of Lilia's scenes for some reason have an infinite loading screen bug and there doesn't seem to be a way to fix or circumvent it.

All working according to Kagura Games plans.
Just look at their previous localization sayaka addition with the memory leak crash they introduced and are yet to fix.
Not sure why people are expecting quality out of them anymore.
You can always report that on their discord who knows if they will bother to fix that.

I haven't had any problems playing it and the scenes work well. I haven't had any crashes. I haven't had any errors like what they've posted. I don't know. In my experience, I haven't found anything strange except in one scene where Lilia's sprite is changed to Sheril's. so I don't know what to tell you, currently I have almost all the scenes unlocked, I only have a few prostitution scenes left
I'm not going to say that other users are lying since I have no idea, Wolf RPG is trash and there may be occasional errors that don't repeat themselves, like a sound not loading because you've spammed the attack too much or things like that, but in my experience with the game I haven't found anything out of the ordinary.

Seems like a issue with the scripts they add.
Said scripts work fine on more modern pc setups, but they dont test them in older setups.
Thats the same problem with sayaka addition and Sol Rui (where you have to mess with graphic card settings else you get blackscreens with no animations)..

I don't know, I can only assure that in my experience with the game I haven't had such problems. The comment I made isn't from today, it's from when the game just release and it seemed like there was nothing or that no one had reported anything.
But they may be right, as I've already said, Wolf RPG is not a simple model and it gives many errors, so if they say there are errors it will be true, what happens is that I have not reproduced those errors.

Turning the sex scene quality down from 'maximum' to 'high' solved the crashing and infinite loading screen bugs for me.

Confirmed. Once Sheryl's Dexterity score meets or exceeds 100, she can steal everything in town with no chance of being detected. The only problem I had is that Cheryl can't steal the file, and I tend to focus Lilia's training on Strength and HP instead of Dexterity and MP.
Still, the thought of a shopkeeper giving away thousands of gold's worth of merchandise in exchange for a pair of women saying, "I gooned LOLz gimme swag" makes me giggle.
Not a full guide, but some general guidelines to keep Lilia and Cheryl as corruption-free virgins:
1) The first thing I have Lilia and Cheryl do at the beginning of their turns is to buy a bottle of ?Erotic Stimulant? and 2 bottles of milking stimulant. They drink the bottles, milk themselves, and masturbate. Not only does this keep their erotic and milking bars low, it racks up HHP which can be used to buy consumables and costumes.
2) I don't understand why, but the third and fourth masturbation and milking scenes for both Lilia and Cheryl increase their corruption. Cheryl has it worse, since her third and fourth milking scenes (which are solo) qualify as adultery. No, I don't get it either. A few points of corruption won't be an issue, but the heroines will end up Broken if their corruption reaches 100.
3) Do not let Lilia get Unsatisfied in the dungeon. Contact with any monster will initiate a rape scene.
4) Do not let Lilia and Cheryl end their turns Unsatisfied. They will get assaulted and/or raped during body checks.
5) Don't forget to pay your taxes. A low-risk/no-risk way of doing this is using suggestion #1, selling their breast milk, and working at the plant to raise their stats. One heroine doing this can raise 6,000 gold, and the starting tax level is 5,000. And if one of the heroines has a Dexterity score of 100 or higher, they can rob the city blind with no fear of consequence. In addition to the consumables and random loot are five bottles of wine with sell for 5,000 gold apiece.
6) Get comfortable with save scumming. Losing all HP in the dungeon, failing a steal attempt, and failing a stealth mission are among the ways to involuntarily trigger a sex scene. (On the bright side, save scumming is easy with 100 save slots at the player's disposal.)

I don't know if it's a bug, but at one point, Chiro moves in with the Heroines, and you get the option to play as him. The problem (for me) is that a black screen appears with a choice prompt, but no matter what I press, I only hear a (click) sound, and in the end, only the cancel button works (X or N0). But then, the chance to play as Chiro is skipped. I distinctly remember that in the previous version (not the current Kagura), this moment worked perfectly.

press the down arrow on the keyboard to select the option to play as a chiro in the chiro part, I tell you the same as Burnt Fruit, the game works well and it's probably a problem on your part except for minor confirmed bugs that do not affect the gameplay experience.
