One thing I really appreciate is how Inno just straight up ditched her Patreon instead of removing the incest fetish and changing the Lilaya/Lyssieth/Meraxis interactions and/or relationships (not to mention giving up on the potential for other incestuous pairings in future updates).

It seems she's doing fine with just SubscribeStar; I wish other devs would pick that route instead of rewriting their settings because of Patreon's stupid rule.
Admittedly, I haven't really looked into other differences between the two platforms. I've no idea if there's a good reason to stick with Patreon over SubscribeStar even if it means getting rid of incest content.

Noted, still learning English and the correct phrasing, and at least you can control the flow of the sex scenes in LT (lord knows i've skipped entire paragraphs on CoC2 cuz they force stuff in the foreplay that isn't my kink before FINALLY getting to the good stuff, and that's NOT talking about the dialogue mountains before/during some sex scenes. Also like...there IS an option at least, sure not everybody care bout Incest, i'm meh towards it but there IS an option...LT is letting you DO it if you want, CoC2 doesn't has that)

It could afford to be a bit spicier, like with unique text or something, but just knowing that they're blood relatives is enough to get the fetish juices flowing. Not that I would know anything about that personally, of course.

You're right about random generated offspring incest scenes being almost the same as generic sex scenes, and you can even make acquaintances and slaves call you mommy/daddy/etc. if you really want.

But during the main quest you find out Lilaya's true relation to the MC (why she looks uncannily like your aunt Lily).
You can also optionally be turned into a demon by Lyssieth, making her your demonic sire, which also makes Lilaya and Meraxis your half-siblings. According to the Gates Motel thread, even step-parent/sibling incest or adopted-parent incest is forbidden, based on Patreon's clarifications to the dev.
The demon transformation leads to a followup orgy between Lyssieth/Lilaya/Meraxis/MC, which gives you a chance to take Meraxis's virginity and impregnate her if you want.
Admittedly, the actual sex scenes still use the default LT sex system, but the unique dialogues and circumstances leading in to the sex makes it way hotter.
It's those scenes, and the potential for similar non-machine-generated interactions in the future, that are worth preserving.

I see, thanks. It seems like the savefile doesn't increase in size that much, given the difference in numbers of tracked NPCs in my gamestate and both of your states.

The save file doesn't increase that much, but my god the memory usage does. I honestly don't understand how the game's memory usage balloons out of control with more NPCs while the actual save state doesn't. And I don't care enough to go figure it out anymore.

So I'm mostly just blaming Java.

Yeah, IIRC it retains character data on every single NPC, even the ones that have been removed from the game one way or another. And geez, out of 278 children, both born and unborn, I've met exactly 100. I bet if I could look at my file, I'd see a complete set of character data for every last one.

But I will give Inno credit; she has done a good job making this info accessible.

So it most likely doesn't have *all* of them saved. Only children and NPCs that haven't been explicitly removed from the game. The options are basically 1) attack them in world and choose the "remove from game" option. 2) Enslave and sell them.

All other NPCs and children are saved.

That said, I don't think the dev *intentionally* made this all really simple to find. I think she just used the most basic, pre-packaged XML handler she could find so she wouldn't have to write her own file handling lol

I can't entirely blame her though, that's what I'm currently working on for my own project. I want it to be 100% modable through basic, easy to read/write text files, and I want everything to be loaded at runtime rather than compiled into the game. Which means writing my own file management and parsing that'll handle loading all the game data from the disk. Bit of a pain in the ass, because I'm basically designing a language again, but super fun. Haven't done this since uni lol

I've actually brought this up in the discord before the answer i got is that shes promising to focus on main content again which then led into the argument of what "main" content is for instance the fields which are a completely side thing are considered main content and apparently it has been the major hang up in development

The transformation is actually not required even if it is meant to be, my latest run MC is still human except portions I specifically transformed with a certain debug only demonic transformative. Not enough corruption to transform.

Most Java games don't do this. I play Night Games and usage doesn't go up like this, but I get into LT and it skyrockets.

handles extremely large text files exceptionally well. I've thrown 100MB+ files at it before (if you think LT's saves are bloated you should see the crap I have to deal with at my day job ) and it always handles things in stride. It isn't free/open-source, but if you're willing to deal with a nagware prompt once in a while it should work fine as an occasional editor.

Just to give you an idea of how it performs, I just loaded a 15.7MB save into it. It took about 2 seconds to load the save and there are no delays in scrolling or editing the file, and searching is pretty much instantaneous.

It might be a situation like the naga body, I was able to make "tail body" potions in 3.13 but they never actually worked. Then I got .15 from here, turned into a snake morph, and after that turned my legs into a giant tail with no further issues.

I guess sometimes the infrastructure gets put in place before the actual morph that makes it work is ready.

Other than using the 'BUGGY' menu, I haven't found any way to add spinnerets. I keep hoping that someone would add a spider-morph mod to the discord, since I have no idea how to do it myself.

They should get merged in soon-ish.

A quick search would have answered your question without the need to post. I asked the same thing a few days ago. As NoStepOnSnek said they should be in soon-ish. I took that to mean either the 0.4 public release or the first subscribestar release after 0.4
