No because I'm not that much of a scumbag. I'd be grateful I have such loyal supporters and I'd make sure I could give them the content that they are paying me for. If I personally *couldn't* put out a monthly patch, I would even halt everyones' payments if I could, or put out an update that I literally will be unable to and they should cancel it for the month if I'm not able to do that.
Welp, Rich Dev Poor Dev situation right here. That's why you'll never get six-figure-yearly-income doing next to nothing, mate :)

Mind, I'm not condoning her actions. But I can certainly understand the motivation behind them, even if it's a shit thing to do in my book as well.
I will say it's fucking hilarious that people will white knight such scumbag people, like what they're paying for is totally normal.
This happens with "non-porn-mass-market" games as well. Whatever the motivation, there's a lot of people who, once "engaged," will defend anything, no matter how shady or outright immoral, afterwards.

Also, politics, heh.
I've been following this game for... I want to say 3~4 years now, and virtually no content has been added in that time, yet she has made such a fortune doing almost nothing to the game.
Personally, I don't think she started with underhanded intentions. Burnout happens, and considering it's her first project, that probably came as a surprise. The whole "I'm going to milk this for all it's worth" aside, but let's be honest - that one's more on people who actually enable it with their money.
I know this was probably sarcastic, but for people who think I haven't played the game, trust me, I have, way too much. What we have is great, I just think it's a very douchebag move to keep charging people while you put out no content for years.
Yeah, snark doesn't carry too well in writing.

Agree, if with the cavet that the code underneath what's out there already is... eh, what it is.

I would feel bad to scam people for their money personally, so no, I will never make a pile of money doing literally nothing, and I'm okay with that.

FTR I'm well aware of all that, it's just shitty to do. AAA developers are absolutely no better (see yearly Call of Duty typically being worse than the previous one and forced down everyones' throats for $70 cuz they're scared all their friends will jump ship so they have to as well).

In psychology this is called "sunk cost fallacy"

It's an expensive coping mechanism that basically stems from ppl not being able to take the L and move on
Which makes no sense to me, cuz when a dev does really shitty things, I tend to jump ship and give them the finger. This isn't an MMO, this isn't brand loyalty, it's a fucking porn game you can play for free to begin with.

It might make no sense to you, but the sunk cost fallacy is a very common phenomenon, not just in video games. Besides, her subscribers do get earlier access to what little content she creates. And it's always possible that she would just stop developing the game if her subscriber numbers fall too much. Which might be a justification some of her subscribers.

It hasn't been worth it to subscribe to her for years, but if somebody wants to toss her 5 bucks a month or so, it doesn't hurt me, so I don't care.

Oh of course, I was just saying in this instance not "in general, it makes no sense to me.

Don't get me wrong, I don't either; she's just one lucky bitch who gets to do nothing and profit greatly from it.

Oh, I fully agree with you on both. Just pointing out it's "tolerated" all too damn frequently.

Then again, probably why I'm squarely in the "Poor Dev" camp as well, while associates roll in the big bucks (especially from fleecing the mobile market), heh.
it doesn't hurt me, so I don't care.
The thing is, it absolutely does hurt you.

Because it sets a trend for the industry as a whole (and not just the "adult" portion of it), inundates younger generations with tolerance toward such practices, and in general is how you end up with games being sold piecemeal (shoutout to Paradox Interactive for selling even graphics and music assets separately to acclaim of dumbfuck shills).

"Damned gamers, they ruined gaming."

"Microtransactions don't hurt me since they're just cosmetic, so I don't care."
"Loot Boxes don't hurt me since they're just cosmetic, so I don't care."
"I just avoid Gacha games, so I don't care."

Like it just continues to progress. AAA industry will always keep pushing that line to see what they're allowed get away with. You absolutely should care because I mean, just look at the state of the industry right now: Day 1 battlepasses, microtransactions, loot boxes/gachas (even for non-cosmetics), Buy2Skip, etc. The industry's a hot boiling mess of garbage.

sadly links are dead and seems abandoned
It's still being worked on, just that the older versions aren't on the server at the moment. If you replace 'lilith' with 'beta' you can find the latest beta version, just be warned that you may run into multiple bugs.

I don't care, not because it doesn't effect me, but because I alone can do nothing to change it and have no choice but to just sit back and watch as people I know gush over their waifu gacha games they toss entire paychecks at.

I'm sure that Innoxia is genuinely disappointed with not being able to meet her deadlines but she needs to find someone else to work with so that there's less stress on her. Girl has a serious martyr complex, as someone with anxiety problems I beat myself up over not being able to finish something but it happens every fucking time.

In the words of Hugo Weaving from Priscilla, Get off the cross, we need the wood.

I decided to just completely delete her scenes and start again from scratch, and while I've got a much more fun idea for how to handle this character, it's requiring a lot more content to be added in support of it. So, basically, I'm adding a large amount of new content which this mini-boss character (who's still a succubus, but not just a generic 'bad guy') is going to be a supporting part of.
Well, if you put on the appropriate pair of Rose Colored Glasses ...
Cosplay as a White Knight ...
Click your heels together, 3 times ...

Then read Inno's statement again ...

The next update Inno puts out should have some substantial content added to it. That does depend upon Inno's definition of 'a large amount'.

My expectations of what Inno delivers is pretty low, so I don't really expect much or expect anything any time 'soon'.
But .............. It does sound like we are going to, at least, get another spoonful for Main Story content.

I'm not disagreeing or anything, just adding:

The thing is, from the customer's perspective, it shouldn't matter if she is genuinely disappointed in herself or not.

Like, it's been 4+ years of this. The fact that she hasn't done anything to to rectify it indicates that she is perfectly content with being genuinely disappointed in herself and as unprofessional as possible.

Either that, or she's not actually that disappointed. (I can't really judge that, because I usually try to fix problems as soon possible, so my perspective is inherently different)

But the result is the same. Development is at 10% of its normal speed.

That's a very sad way to look at the world. If enough people make a fuss then things can change. I remember there being a story about that that went vaguely "people don't stand up even if everyone wants to because no one else knows the others want to stand up" or something like that. If you make yourself heard and encourage others to care then more and more will join the cause. If everyone thought like you then there will be zero resistance. I think it's moral to atleast try and say something about something you feel strongly about rather than believe that you don't have power.

There is only so long you can speak out and be ignored before you give up, because at that point you realize that the majority of people don't want it to change. They're happy with how things are, and to change things would take away from their current happiness.
