Please don't give Inno any more ideas on how to delay the game even more, it is already going to take 150 years for the game to come out without her/him (I really don't know people refer to Inno as both) worrying about an android port. Plus the game is so terribly optimized that it might very well kill any android device that tries to run it.

Since you can pretty much save unlimited files (don't forget to compress them though, save XML is huge due to all the bloat that should honestly be in properties.xml when it has nothing to do with the current playthrough) just disable autosaves completely and save like a maniac. That's what I've been doing, at least, since that's how I can playtest and traceback easily (I should just compile the dev build so I can make a very verbose live dump...) from the jar.

Is it working fine for you? It's doing this with every one of my saves, and the only thing I did was modify the .xml for the Trickster's cloak. I'm using the .exe, by the way.

i have a question: companions and slaves are very promising but why the developer hasnt updated anything about them?

Consider them a dead feature. Don't expect them to ever be updated in a reasonable time frame unless modders take over.

And even then, not until a lot of other shit gets modded first. Like a complete overhaul of the game's front end, since apparently that's what causes the horrible lag when you have too many NPCs according to the testing in this thread. I would *love* to start working on improving the slave sim, but this game just simply couldn't support any of what I'd want to add.

It's more badly thought out design and implementation rather than just Java. There's been no mention of a couple specific memory leaks being patched out, so that's probably also a factor.

This is a text adventure game. We've been making them for like 40 years. There have been more complex text adventure games for as long as I've been alive, played on way worse hardware, that have performed far better.

This isn't a Java problem.

It's a real good thing she put out an "update" in May that "released" all the content she had been working on for the last year, or else this line would be yet another lie.

I've seriously lost all respect for Inno as a developer. 0.4.0 killed it, and this is just dirt on the coffin.



Oh hey, it's one of the two encounters she said she's been working on since January! Wait... You're just starting it? So what were you doing during those months? You know, the months where you said you were working on this encounter and the systems updates which you're now telling us you weren't working on them?

It's really funny seeing this, because the Meraxis content being partially added to the github was people's entire defense for Inno when arguing about how much she's getting done.

11/10 review would laugh again. I'm barely in the physical and mental condition to even think straight but this made me laugh really hard. It's really sad, but... after looking at the code and seeing "idk what this does" TODOs, I can confirm there's a bit of a problem if people aren't just here to see what this is all about, chuckle, play the game, then take a break and laugh again.

Did backers and her voluntary coworkers (modders applying for content review) confront her about her work ethics at some point, or is this just a case of "this is my game, I do what I want, I don't need your mods so you can go play another game if you're unhappy about how I work" and SubscribeStar backers just pay for the "privilege" of hosting and watching a popcorn party as non-backers cringe over the situation?

Edit: The centaur depot is at the end of the Meraxis fight. Just swing some sense into her chuuni face (regardless of your stats and difficulty, you'll win this) and complete the "placeholder sex". As for the rest of the "content" Inno added, well, that'll have to wait here...

My favorite part of this game being updated is coming here and looking at how mad everybody gets. Not to say it isn't deserved of course, because Inno definitely deserves it, but it's still super entertaining.

lol i play crusader kings, this game runs smoothly in comparison

While Crusader Kings is a terrible game when it comes to performance (though III is much better when it comes to that) I still find this game much worse. CK at least is clearly working when it starts to get slow, LT often times just freezes for seconds at a time. Plus as soon as you add mods LT can become completely unplayable and while part of the blame lays on the modders shoulders a lot of the blame should still go to Inno for making a game so unoptimized that a couple of clothing mods can cause it to refuse to launch.

This project really saddens me because it is actually quite good and has a lot of potential but Inno's terrible coding and awful work ethic is killing it. I hope Inno finds a way to unfuck this as I would hate to see this project become the text based porn version of Yandere Simulator.
