Should probably mark that this game is no longer abandoned. At least, if/once a new update is posted.
That's how it actually works. No updates in 6+ months without any news about development, gets the game marked as abandoned. When update drops (and only when it drops, just news isn't enough at this point, as the dev may not follow on them), tag gets removed, at least for a time being.

Inno was always like this, it's just that this time, there weren't even mandatory excuse posts, earning the tag.

Heck yeah, sounds to me like that's the way it should work. I've seen a lot of scammer game programmers "announce future updates" for a project that they never actually planned on returning to, all just so they could siphon a tiny bit more lifeblood from their loyal followers without putting in any additional work.

Unless the project actually gets updated, their word alone can't be trusted.

Care to expand on this? What echochamber, what goons, and what are they doing. Im New to the game and thread, and I dont want to miss out on potential drama
Any space that Inno or the modstaff control is a safespace where only positive vibes and a specific narrative is allowed. When the schedule slipped really badly for the first time Inno began to show patreonitis symptoms and the mods enforced that you couldn't question how she can be too sick to work but well enough to spend all day screen sharing while playing a game or watching cartoons. Eventually they just drove most real discussion off the discord and out of the blog comments into spaces they couldn't control.

I believe they came here trying to claim that dissenting discussion was a personal attack or to group report dissenting comments and were told to go away as the rule wouldn't stretch that far.

They tried to convince the Chan sites to be nice and were rewarded with vicious mockery and a few of the modstaff had their OCs molested when people recognized who was chatting in the thread.

Echo chamber = Inno's discord server. It's basically a cult hideout, they keep regurgitating the same "We love you Inno your health is more important than the game please rest first don't need to strain yourself" and shoot down any attempt of questioning her actual schedule or work progress from outsiders. People here on this site are immune to her apologetic attempts, that's what it is.

It's been YEARS since this "drama" started. The game has fallen off too long ago. Now we are here mostly to ridicule her behaviors and take bets on when she'll post another "I'm sorry but I've been down lately so can't work at all I will push a post out next year thanks for spoon-feeding me money as usual bye".

If you have the time, try visiting the official blogspot and check out her log schedule. Six months of SoonTM. She really can't get enough copium.

Also on an unrelated note, this is what Inno probably does on monthly basis.

I'm concerned about what can be considered a valid "update" to remove the Abandoned tag. Can Inno literally just remove 1 line of spacing, push it to the public and have the game up and running again on F95? What's the standard here?
Just be ready because the next update will be underwhelming, but enough to remove the tag

Three days until the fabled update that's been put off for six months guys!!!!
I can't wait to see one new quest and maybe a new area if Innoxia feels so inclined to grace us with more content

That's expecting way too much content and being in a timely manner? Nah.

inb4 we get yet another pointless, hyper-niche feature, like changing the color of the hairs on your feet/legs independently of your body hair, or the colors of your insides (like past your orifices), or ear/nose sex.

Not going to deny the disappointing pace of progress in the past few years.

Definitely not advocating that anyone should be collecting patronage/income under false/misleading pretenses.

I'm not involved enough in any communities to comment on their prevailing moods and opinions but I do think it's counterproductive to let discontentment turn into personal attacks on the creator. I do not know Innoxia or what she's suffering from though I can relate all too well to mental health challenges that can sap away every shred of ones productive output for baffling lengths of time and that any amount of subsequent attention and drama that follows only makes recovery even harder.

Frankly, I think the best solution is to just not give a persistently stalling developer more money/attention until they demonstrate that they're earning it. It seems counterproductive to heap pressure or outright hostility/abuse on them and this is a recurring attitude on this site that I find disappointing, even if it is a largely piracy-oriented community of individuals with diverse, often taboo, sexual interests we can still be civil, mature, and constructive in order to encourage more and better content to be produced.

Still, I think the volume of interest this thread still receives is a testament to the fact that this game still stands out and inspires disappointment in those who have played it and wish to see it expanded/improved to a more complete state. I will say in Innoxia's defense that the entire game is pretty much free and open source and, even if she falls off the map forever, she has enabled any new hero(es) to step up and keep it going. I can't remember how to do "Hello World" in any programming language and even I have managed to get the source into a Java IDE and tweak aspects of the game code to better suit my preferences - a capability I really appreciate having.

End of the day I hope the original dev gets her life on track, does the right thing for her fans/supporters (whether retiring her role or revitalizing it), and that this great project gets back the momentum it once had.

The latest blogpost clearly says that the main (=biggest) new feature is going to be adding a shop with doll slaves and the ability to tell the doll to be immobile during sex.
That's right. The big new feature that took half a year to implement is NPCs doing nothing.

While I know that this question may be stupid or has been asked already, please humor me. Why hasn't Inno asked for help in completing the game, or at least a sizeable chunk of it? I mean, I get it Life happens: members of your family die, mentally you're falling apart, you lose your job, you wake up one morning and can't even recognize the person staring back at you in the mirror, etc. But imho when you take on a project that is seemingly as big as this one, you're going to need a support team; you're going to need help, and having discord mods tell you what you want to hear ain't gonna cut it.

If I remember correctly, Inno was very adamant of getting a second developer and probably less so to pass the torch to someone else because they wanted to be fully responsible for the game.

Partly that Inno is a procrastinator and being expected to commit daily or weekly to a shared repository would reveal how often nothing is done for deadlines and then the cramtime before the real true absolute final deadline.

Partly that Inno is a control freak and people don't want to work under or around her restrictions

Partly that Inno is up her own ass and thinks the helpers are leeches for expecting to get paid for the time they were on the clock with no work assigned or for work that doesn't work very well because they were forced to work around the spaghetti.

A big part that with enough waiting the contributors will do all that work for free.

from personal expirence being in the gay furry sphere, the reason we seem to get a lot of the big text games is because a lot of us are in STEM or STEM related fields so we want our games to be more then just a simple wank novel.
I think that the people making games that specific, are looking to make that game, specifically; whereas someone trying to make a porn game can just pull from a big bag of archetypes.

'Some people like work-types, let's make a buisness woman'
'Some people like stormy redheads, let's make a seductress'
'Some people like motherly figures, let's make a stepmom'

From there it's really just going down the checklist of positions and camera angles

Its a lot more comfortable for someone to produce a game based on generalizations, rather than your own sexual makeup. It's also a lot more profitable, a large majority of the population are straight, and so making a basic-ass 3dcg straight vanilla game is going to reach a lot more people. Its also a lot more simple, workflow-wise

Download blender and like 3 pre-made assets, dress them up, render, throw that into visual novel maker and you pretty much have half of a patreon game. I would be hard-pressed to think of a workflow so simple for a game like bdcc or flexible survival. you just can't write that much on archetypes alone.

straight games lend themselves more towards flat out VNs or just CG collectors, while gay games lend themselves to incredibly in depth minute detail text based games.

Frankly, the gays have the better of the two choices in that regard lol
again, I think that why they're gay, mostly. 93% of men and 87% of women are straight, according to wikipedia. If your making a porn game to make money, making it gay would be absolutely gimping your own project.

Ah yes, adding something to the game that is ALREADY IN THE FUCKING GAME.
Bravo Innoxia. Truly, this update was worth all the time taken for it. Not a single moment of waiting was wasted.
I am going to go out on a very thin limb and say what that really is, is a series of 'dead fish' descriptions. Which is... very niche. I am more perturbed by yet another god-damn DOG MORPH.

One main point of disagreement: Ever heard of tv tropes? It has a massive catalogue of archetypes for media of all sorts, including video games. After browsing for a bit, you'll notice that every entity ever is a collection of archetypes mashed together. Meraxis, arguably one of the more fleshed out characters in LT (not saying much), is a who serves as a and a . Pretty sure you do something simular yet more setting appropriate in BDCC to make some NPC's.

Also keep in mind that consumers of some niches will pay top dollar to see more, negating the potential losses from cutting out the common masses. Seriously, the number of mysteriously wealthy people throwing tips at furry and loli artists...

I am disappointed in you. You missed , the implementation of which I get a real kick out of because I always take the Chuuni-type perk in the skill tree for some truly silly exchanges.

Also often surprised by the intense fervor of some furry/loli fetishists, the latter category I've realized that I learned to tolerate ignore as it was intensely prevalent in the 90's/early 2000's anime (back when I would watch any anime I could find and I couldn't be as selective). I appreciate when sandbox games give options for disabling or avoiding such squicky content.

I was going to make a list, but then stopped because I knew there'd be a bunch of "what about this trope?" comments like this one.

Edit: Bruv even the eye-patch thing is part of the trope even though that part is slightly downplayed since it does reduce her power a bit.
