Resident Post: Daz Studio 2025 is in bad shape.

Feels a bit weird making an update post again ^_^ That's like 2 months or something since the last proper update.

Firstly thanks for all of your messages in the aftermath of Patch 3.2's completion. I'm gonna miss working on that patch a little, I don't have my usual fatigue from working on one particular section of the game for extended periods. I genuinely loved building the Exhibitionist stuff and Sharon's content too.
I thought that moving back into Jayce's Party stuff might feel a little off at first, that I might have to push myself rather than simply ease into it but when I opened my wee JP document and read the notes I have on the remaining scenes; I was instead pumped full of excitement.
I genuinely didn't expect to feel this way but I'm glad to be where I am.

Alright, so.. A new Daz update landed a couple of weeks ago. I had been putting it off until I had 3.2 finished up because of the flippant states of the different alpha versions of Daz 2025 recently and I am so glad that I did because it's quite frankly a mess.

I'm not sure what the Daz devs have done with recent updates but this version and the previous version of Daz 2025 have had so many bugs. For example; in this new update sometimes the translate / universal tools will just stop functioning, they sort of "grey out" and with it I can no longer use the undo tool which is a necessity for work like this - I've accidentally undone the entire scene load and lost a ton of work several times now because the undo function isn't storing updates I make in the program past loading a scene. I tried to find a workaround script to reset things without force closing the program but currently scripts are disabled in Daz 2025, likely because it's still in alpha. I can't downgrade the version because they aren't saved locally on my pc and aren't accessible anywhere through Daz because again, it's still in alpha. I also can't use the stable versions of Daz because they use the old version of Iray which aren't functional with Ada/lovelace GPUs.
The only way to fix the problem currently is as soon as the translate tool stops functioning in a viewport, I have to close to the program and reload the scene I'm currently working on. Obviously I'm working on Jayce's Party which are enormous scenes so the load takes around 2 minutes each time. This might not sound like a lot but I've had to restart several times for multiple CGs so far and these CGs ONLY include Lisa in them. When moving 2, 3, 4 characters I could end up having to reboot and reload dozens of times for complex images.

This isn't the only issue I've noticed either though it is by far the most impactful to my workflow. dForced assets will randomly warp without any interaction, moving around the scene in perspective mode now functions like a camera, the display itself doesn't illuminate with or without lights when orienting spotlights. Now to top it off, the most recent patch has basically destroyed the Iray Preview Renderer which is a vital part of the process. It's the worst state I've ever seen Daz in. As I mentioned I'd put off installing it until I finished 3.2 in case it broke anything else but they seem to have spent the time adding new features instead of fixing existing issues.
Instead; two core functions that are non-negotiable for creating CGs are now broken and they have yet to fix many of the problems with the previous versions.
Hopefully this will get fixed sooner rather than later but I am concerned.. Since the release of this new Daz, some issues have been addressed but for every issue that's been "improved," another two have appeared. It is a little worrying.

Another problem I'm having is how Daz 2025 handles emissives compared to all previous versions. Basically emissive lighting is FAR less bright per luminance value in Daz 2025 so for any scenes that I've used previously with emissive lighting present (like Jayce's Apartment), I have to edit the values of every emissive object to get them back to normal. Currently I'm trial + erroring a script on the stable version of Daz to raise the value by 20x, 30x, 50x, etc of every emissive material in a scene then opening that file in Daz 2025 to see if I can get close to a value that's close enough to apply globally.
It's not as big a deal as the preview renderer or the undo problem but I just want to make CGs lol.. All this technical catchup stuff is really killing my mojo.

Right that's enough of the negativity. It is cumbersome and I pray that it's fixed quickly but until then we press on through the mud.

DS (Danny Stays): Cheating:

We last left off DS Cheating at Lisa sneaking out of the bedroom as Danny lays sound asleep. Lisa peers over the edge of the balcony in the apartment and sees the remaining party goers engaged in an orgy of sorts. Kind of a cliffhanger, I suppose. Since then we've had the DL Orgy scene implemented into the game so we know what the alternate reality looks like if Danny weren't still at the party but in this reality, he's still there and it'd be beyond stupid for Lisa to get into that same situation with her boyfriend only a single door away.
Lisa sees what's going on and is fascinated by it. It's too wild to ignore and she can't take her eyes off what's happening. Mind wandering she stealthily moves towards the stairs introducing yet another choice. Only one option will be available on the first release of patch 3.3 as the second choice takes you down a separate route.

I guess the theme of this route will be stealth or avoidance or something along these lines. It's completely unique in that regard to any of the current Jayce's Party final scenes as Lisa and those she engages with try to keep things a secret as they evade the other folks at the party. Even though this scene mainly features Lisa, Troy and Jake; there are "situations" with several others during it as well.

I think that's probably enough scene info for this post ^_^
This scene will take a while to put together as it moves around the apartment a fair bit so I don't want to just flood the first update post with everything regarding the scene :)

I've just seen that there was another Daz patch uploaded so I'll put that on download now and hopefully that actually fixes the problems. I'll let you guys know x
FINGERS CROSSED! I am seriously praying that this is the solution patch because it's a really i tough spot because I don't have any options. I can't just jump to another program and no previous versions are even available. It's stressing me out ^_^

RIGHT! I gotta go get ready. Sorry that I don't have more previews to share but I don't have that much rendered yet because of all of the above :(
Assuming this new patch doesn't nuke the entire program I'll fill this post with a couple more teasers and I progress.

Have a great day everyone <3!

Man I don't even bother updating Daz. Every update breaks something catastrophically.
Ditto... and on the occasions when I do decide to update to a newer version I usually find a link to a newish version and not the latest one simply because it usually takes them about 6 months to iron the bugs out of new releases. Heck I'm still running 4.21 and unless something dramatic happens I see no need to update anytime soon.

Wow! I just tried this game yesterday. I could criticize some elements, but overall one of the best adult games I have played. The renders and the writing is really enjoyable.

is there a gallery unlocker for this game?
Yep... enter the replay room (the mirror in Lisa's living room) and throw the lever inside to unlock all scenes.

BTW using the search box in the upper right hand corner of this thread and typing 'unlock' or 'gallery' would have given you the answer in 2 seconds, you really should learn how to use a forum when you join.

which games heavily explore exhibitionism and teasing but without getting into sharing, ntr or hotwife.?
Not the place to ask... discussing other games/projects ect in a games thread is strictly against the rules and disrespectful to the game's developer. One would think that a member like you have who has been around for over four years would have read the rules at least once.

Do yourself a favor, delete your post then go to this thread to ask questions like that https://f95zone.to/forums/recommendations-identification.104/

Unfortunately, you can't go back, but you can rewatch the scenes in the recollection room.

Can someone help me with the step-by-step guide and tool to translate this game? I remember that the story is interesting, I was using mtool to translate but bing translates it completely without meaning

I haven't played since 2.85b and the whole removing content debacle. How much of the new 3+ content is new content versus retooling of the past? Is it worth just starting from the beginning again or use an old save, assuming those even still work.

Old saves do not work. Lots of new content and ZERO retooling of the past content other than removing the bar scene and Paul.

You wouldn't have had to ask either question if you'd read the changelogs.
