hmm, best choice (morally that is imo) is sending him out of town with his daughter. He has a legit grudge against Jessie, so I don't really hold all that against him. But you gotta off Jewel for that to work, girl is batshit crazy
If the ginger is threatened, all bets are off.

Is that choice fixed tho? If you send him out of town with his daugther to your buddy, he still gets caught

eh, dude deserves a chance imo, especially that he has a kid. He got fucked over by Jessie, he did a stint that he shouldn't have, I seriously doubt he will return to try and stir shit up again after MC warned him.
I mean, Dylan was guilty of drug dealing ;)

Foxxxy(she gets 3 x for the obvious reasons) totally sold him out, but being leader of the ring that was her prerogative. I mean yeah sucks to be him and all, but everyone in the game knows these things. If he didnt, he was too stupid to be pushing in the first place

I am not yet far along to know anything about that, and I guess I'll only learn some parts if and when I go back and make different choices. In any case, for this choice I did not get any other options than killing Dylan or sending him back to prison. From what I have gleaned in this thread, because I didn't start anything with Christa.

I just watched another scene where the lack of choice was honestly a bit upsetting: I would very much have appreciated the option of sticking to Daisy's gameplan of leaving the policeman murderer of Tina and her mum for the cops to find. Even if that meant a bad end. Or alternatively at least some lines of text (thoughts of the MC) before they entered the house, that explain why doing what Daisy wants would be really dumb. But giving the players just the apparently cosmetic choice of whether or not to push the baseball bat further up his ass was - a fucked up move toward the players, I think. (I am going to assume it was just for humanity score? Still fucked up... In contrast, the cosmetic choices when the MC was getting tortured were brutal, but really good story telling!)
I am not about to method act a psychopath. A few more such scenarios, and I'll just stop playing because I can't stomach the presentation of the game anymore. And that, I think, would be a real pity...

you can play it safe for the most part and be ok....you're main thing is to keep Jessie in line and keep her score up...low Jessie is SERIOUS No Good. I have a complete monster path done bc I test and thats dark as hell. But my main path iirc has a +10 humanity....evil is -9 and yes some scenes are dependant on those scores

I can understand what you mean about the baseball bat, essentially it's the same outcome. Jack's reaction is very over the top, no disagreement from me.

The hint to Jack's overreaction is who does Tina look like?

As far as I remember neither I as player, nor Jack, has ever seen a picture of Tina or her mother. Which kind of circles back around to my complaint: When I as player don't know understand why the character I am playing is apparently over the top violent, I have a real problem staying connected. When I have the feeling that Jack himself hasn't really researched a case he violently judges (Again, far as I can tell, he did all that just on a few words from the women liberation group. He has access to a police database, but it wouldn't have contained anything about this, and it wasn't shown.), that seems sketchy as hell. Yes, they found their corpses in the wall. But what if they didn't!?

I am not criticizing the story beats as such, mind. I think this is all just a matter of presentation: Can't the game get more buy-in from us players that this person really is guilty and needs to be vigilante punished, before Jack goes and rams a screw driver into his thigh bone??
Something like the liberation group giving a power point presentation about their target and his victims to Jack, as prep, and to convince him and us that this is justified? Because if they don't have enough data collected for something like that, this is completely fucked up anyway.

ok i gotta say something about your logic here .... 1st off ............ this is a fucking game not real life ....... so the comment : " Yes, they found their corpses in the wall. But what if they didn't!? " is kinda dumb considering this is a scripted game ....
2nd ... you are criticizing this game for what seems to be one valid reason ... considering the 1st point i made . get over it ... the dev can make this game ... along with any other dev here as they do theirs ....
sorry if i upset you with this ...
i'm just tired of hearing people whine and complain ..
especially when they can't make a dev change the game they want them to
:(

I was trying to give constructive feedback, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe I'll also leave a review once I have finished the game, but it seemed worthwile to give inital feedback when not yet knowing the rest of the story, too.
The reason I hope it's constructive feedback is that I am not suggesting to change the story - which would be just rude - but just that it may be a good idea to change (add to) what is shown to the player. Because of what results when players are missing context.

Thanks for the pic! I can't remember seeing it. Maybe because it was just a small part of an image, on a different path, or is yet to come. I can clearly see the resemblance to Jessie, and yes, that does help explaining Jacks extreme reaction! :D (y)

I think it's only in one of the paths. Better to have it in both
It isn't in my path, correct. I quickly skipped to the scene, to look for it: Jack puts a smartphone in front of the guys face, but we only get to see the phones backside, not the image displayed on it. Anyway, I advocated for getting player buy-in before the torture. Once the hammer gets blodied, it's kinda too late for that...

I just finished game day 19, and for relevant praise: I like the setup for the big upcoming job a lot more: Christa and Jack talk about it, files got looked through, and the known facts make it very obvious that this was a miscarriage of justice. Also, there is very obviously more planning and prep happening. Tumbs up from me. :D (y)
