i do hope that there will be some development here, especially the confident eimi - it's a shame the game stops when some real content and consequences should start following upon future possible choices.

I was sceptical at first, but I see potential here.
While the story so far is nothing to write home about (the usual X-change trope), the setting remains original (visiting Japan as a gajin/otaku exchange student). The characterization in particular is top notch, making the whole an engaging read. I just spent an hour or so going through the whole and enjoyed it quite a lot. Thank you also for allowing us to pick our character and orientation.
Next, please do not let angry people on these forums have your baby join the club of never-finished games for the "lack" of renders. They do exist and are serviceable enough as they come, in support to the real value of your game : the story.
They could undeniably be improved upon, but that could wait for your next game. I'd rather have 50 minutes more story in this game, more specifically involving the people around our MC (it's not an every day's occurrence that families accept foreigners living with them for 3 or 4 years under the same roof, for free), rather than 5 more renders or 5 seconds of animations.
There is crap enough already on this site that goes "v0.01 - release", "v0.01a - added a couple of animations to please the masses", "v0.01b - remastered the whole thing to milk Patreon some further" before vanishing into abandoned status.
I'd really like to see this game moving on instead, and am eager to play the next version of it. Two thumbs up from me.

Enjoying the story so far. Interesting game and concept. Can't wait too see more.

That 1* review is such bullshit. Dude basically review bombed it for being a real porn game. I'm still playing through it, but skipped until the end to see if there really is different art styles and shit, but I didn't see anything like that. It's just a typical system using sprites on backgrounds most of the time, with full pictures during scenes.
Anyways, I think there is some potential here. The writing is much better than what I was expecting. There are some natural dialogues and different personalities that are noticeable. No Engrish at all. The pacing and set up seems great. Plots revolving around mind altering drugs are just my thing.
One thing that I felt was unfortunate is that the lack of voiced dialogue means that we really cannot tell if these people are speaking English or Japanese. Do Emi and her mom, Yuya and pretty much every Japanese person speak in perfect English? Are they speaking in Japanese and we just see the translated text? Does that mean MC and his friends are able to communicate in Japanese perfectly with these people?
When going to another country, the language barrier is perhaps the most significant issue, and it seems to be ignored completely in this story.
If this was up to me, the first thing I would do is to come up with a system to denote which language people are using. This distinction also enables a lot in terms of characterizations. How proificient is the MC and his friends in Japanese? How proficient are the host family in English? Are there Japanese characters who speak English fluently? Maybe there is some misunderstanding of words? Maybe words like "Omanko" and "Chimpo" could be used as a erotic plot point during a scene. Maybe MC's dude friend is not that fluent in Japanese, but him getting with all the japanese girls can be a testament to his pick up skills. The MC should probably be fluent in Japanese so that you don't have to always worry about writing through the language barrier for the bulk of the script.
Anyways, if you are serious about immersion, I would honestly tackle this language issue. If you want some inspiration, try NTR Homestay just to see how they handle this language barrier in the script. Or not.... tbh, maybe it's more work than you want to put in.

I understand that some people won't like the visual choices of the game, but I don't plan on changing it. I spent too much time wasting trying other ways to implement it. I tried rendering in Honey Select 2 and Blender, but for me it was more time needed than I can put into the game, and the result was far from great.
As for the language, the characters usually if there's only foreigners present they speak in English, if there's Japanese people present they speak In Japanese, unless specifically mentioned that the are talking differently. So the foreigners are generally fluent enough to go by in the daily lives. I was thinking about them having issues with the language, but then it would mostly be stuff like "sorry, but can you explain that / repeat it in English?". Which while common, I'm not sure it adds that much to the story and I think some players would just find it annoying. I just wanted it to be easy to understand for the player. It's also why I chose to translate fully some of the words that people living in Japan would normally not translate to English, like ikebana, sado, hanko, inkan, shiyakusho, izakaya etc...

That's fine, for every type there's people who either really love or really hate the graphics, especially when it comes to 3D renders and real porn photos from what I've seen. The main reason for processing the images is to make them look somewhat more consistent. My first attempt was using a bunch of filters, but that really didn't work out that great. The current version uses a few trained ESRGAN models to achieve the effect. Sure it's not always similar, mainly due to the quality of the source material, but the result I think is much better than using the unprocessed original images. Here's one of the more jarring before/after as comparison. (Finding good quality images of clothed male JAV actors is a pain...)
