I've taken this up on my bug list after doing some research online. It might be a python package that's failing to initialize with the launch on your machine (it gets quite technical and not all of it is under my control, so I'll investigate further).

Not yet, for now my rig is bricked up 24/7 rendering the next update. It all has to go in one long haul. This is also the first time I've seen that bug, and since all the python packages work on my system, I cannot ever replicate the bug.

The current version in the OP V0.47 is the patreon version.
It got leaked only a few weeks after the V0.44 public got released.

The compressed version should work the same if it was made from the current uncompressed.

Nope, the huge size is due to lack of compression on images and videos.

Can you try this?

1. Start the game while holding down the shift key
2. In the menu that pops up go to "Graphics Acceleration"
3. Try all options present: ANGLES2, GL2, GLES, etc.

See if one of them works.

The next update will include built-in fonts for Cyrillic and simplified Chinese, which community translators can use for Mandarin and Russian translations. If you know how to do Ren'Py translations, you can specify these fonts in your transcription blocks.
