RPGM - Completed - Liz -The Tower and the Grimoire- [v1.03] [Clymenia]

Probably the best RPGM game honestly.
The combat was solved nicely, you basically just enter the tower and walk into enemies , as long as you have mana it kills them, your HP keeps going down perpetually (not through combat). Which you can counter by one of two items, one regens mana, other reduces how much HP you're loosing (also regen potions)
Money is also easy to come by as long as you're willing to whore out.
You progress by helping people which increases your reputation, the higher your rep level, the more parts of the city open up to you.
You can also progress your corruption, which obviously means how much of a deviant you are.
The writing isn't cringe and none of the english stood out to me as poor.
The art is nice, though i suppose if you're into some degenerate shit like scat you will be disappointed.
You can double your XP and corruption gain in the gallery (also unlock all scenes even if you didn't find them) so you don't need to grind through shit you don't care about just to see all the scenes.
Overall pretty good, my fav RPGM game for sure, the art is nice, dialogue isn't cringe, it's not grindy and it doesn't bother with adding an indepth RPG system so you wont have to bother autistically minmaxing.

Pretty awesome game. The best part was the fighting dungeon monster (which there was none). You simply touch them and it kills them draining some of your MP. Makes it much more enjoyable to focus on what the game has to offer rather than engaging in grinding fights. Wished we could have all of the costumes for Liz to wear anywhere but hey it was good as is.

The best rpgm game I've played so far: scenes are good and combat isn't tedious. The plot is short and simple but effective.
If you had to play just one h-game this decade i recommend you play this one.

Good corruption game

- Pro:
- Not censored
- A lot of whoring out/prostitution/becoming cheap slut stuff
- Reasonably pretty and more or less mature character
- Finished
- A lot of sex events
- Not much combat and grind (the combat is merely running into enemies)
- Easy to play
- Nice corrupted events and developments

- Con:
- Same images are used over and over for different scenes
- Almost all sex is vaginal with some oral and no anal
- All scenes are with one person EVEN in gangbang scenes

While I found the perverted and submissive events you can throw the character in arousing, the scene art disappointed a bit in comparison with that as being tame, healthy and repetative.

Great RPGM corruption game. The two heroines are slightly different than what you'd find in this genre and much more tolerable than the typical RPGM heroines.

The enemies on the world map are auto-defeated which saves you a ton of mashing Z, though you can get very far without a ton of grinding. Pro tip: Get the scarf equipped and upgraded ASAP to make the dungeon runs much more tolerable.

Good amount of smut and fap material, especially as there is no censorship.

That said, it's not going to change the world or introduce anything really new. It also doesn't have any niche hentai things, just a tad heavy on exhibitionism if anything.

You'll have a good time with this game, though you probably won't remember it after you finish the game.

A really good girl-gets-corrupted game.
The story is also nice, with a closet-slut teacher that serves as a partner slut if you get corrupted, or as a role model else.
The small amount of actual combat is also nice. Every scene is optional giving that extra twist.
Great art.

The art is fairly good certainly above par for the style. The images are overlay-ed on top of the rpgm map. Fairly standard in that aspect.
Story is quite good and better written than most the games these days.

If I was to base it on that alone it would reach a solid 4 to 4.5 for me.
There are some issues.
First, the corruption system is broken. I can guess why that is. You won't see the issue if you don't limit what she does.
For example if you try and limit her to just exposure and the occasional Blow job you will find issues such as the casino will dump you in the underground room while you are still a virgin and she doesn't object to it after seeing one of the girls fucked against the wall. She ends up getting fucked by every guy in the place that night. So it kind of kills the story in that aspect. The good part is you can save and not do it.
That isn't the only place such problems exist in the system.
Like, I said I can guess why because I doubt many bothered actually testing this game to the extent because most players probably are just trying to get to the next fap scene.

There are other issues. Where the path is taken for the most part out of the players hand other than to reload a prior save. When the armorer propositions her for sex the player has no opportunity to refuse so if they don't want that then you are forced to reload.

Anyway I mention this stuff for the few players who do actually car about stuff like that and don't just play a game to see how raunched out they can push a character.

I will say, Liz - The Tower and the Grimoire had a refreshing take on some of the issues that normally comes with Hentai games.

The story too is somewhat decent, even if parts of the gameplay feels a bit forced. It pretty much goes like this (no spoilers); you want to help your master with capturing a thief. While your master is already far ahead, you are forced by the local ruler of sorts to help out around the town if you want the pass to the next floor.

This can be done in multiple ways - everything from helping business, helping the citizens through various tasks and doing depraved actions. You generally gather the ingredients to help the people through exploring the tower.

The Tower is inhabited by monsters and that is where this game is different. That is also what I love about the game; the take on combat - there is no, zero, nada combat and it is refreshing.

Alright, let's break it down for quick reading:

The good:

1. The actions that Liz take is dependent on her level of corruption. The more corrupt, the more she's willing to do. You can also remove corruption.
2. The story is decent, but not particularly deep.
3. The CGI is pretty nice.
4. The take on combat is very nice. Much less annoying grinding to contend with.
5. There are a bunch of stuff to do around the city.

The bad stuff

1. The uncorrupted path is unsatisfying, grind-heavy and generally lackluster.
2. The Tower has many levels, and you basically have to memorize the maze of each floor. Though they aren't large, it still can get a bit annoying.
3. This game seriously struggles with a better quest system.
   1. Especially when it comes to the quests of improving the life of the citizens without using lewd methods.

They could have used the world more effectively so we wouldn't be stuck inside a town. Also the ending is very lackluster, maybe 1 or 2 bad ending would make this game worth playing more.

Another downside is the lack of more costumes but it was generally fixed by the mods. It is also very scripted, for example in the bar you'd normally get control so you can actively choose to get harassed or not for example.

Otherwise the game is good. Also love the focus on the hentai so they don't even bother you with combat. The corruption path and the fact you can strip the MC to different degree is also impressive.

If youre a sucker for corruption type game, this is a great choice. This so far have been my favorite game of that genre. The ability to change clothing and have peoples different reaction for different sets of clothing is great. The art style was very well done, and there were also a few post game stuff.

The game is one of corruption done right. Not a story where the protagonist is a closet degenerate, needing only a licentious player to send her onto a path of debauchery, and not one where she's completely averse to doing anything particularly shady. It slowly progresses from minor things to major ones. There are a few drawbacks, there always are, but this one receives a solid score from me.

The actual gameplay is a bit disappointing. You don't have the usual RPG turn-based mechanics but incinerate enemies on touching them. This consumes your mana and a constant health drain throughout the dungeon limiting your time there adds some suspense. However, I found the dungeon traversing to be mostly boring. There was never anything interesting to find or do. Moreover, if you're going for the slow-burn corruption instead of spamming H-Scenes to progress, the game gets very grindy as you have to continuously look for items to craft.

The game also gets the balance between story progression due to H-Scenes vs Dungeon Crawling wrong. You need to get a certain reputation before the next area unlocks but the H-Scene route actually made it harder and take longer than the regular one! That's the priority order wrong, imo. You want to tempt the player into choosing the slutty route because it's advantageous. But if it takes virtually the same time, if not more, to progress, that's a pain. Game is a gold sink so the only time you should feel compelled to put poor Liz through shady shit is when you need to buy a potion and are low on money.

Having said that, I loved the art style and the scenes in general. Could have done with more raunchiness as the early ones were mild peeks and didn't go much beyond that. But otherwise a solid. A worthwhile game if you're interested in the corruption genre.

Don't be fooled. I kept seeing this has a highly rated game, but avoided it for awhile because of the "japanese game" tag. Boy was I wrong.

Great things:
- Great art work. Liz is HOT! And so is Aisha.
- "Corruption" is fluid and easy. Classic genre of "she gets horny and learns to love it." If you don't like that, don't play the game.
- LOTS of action -- both day-to-day activities and in the tower (dungeon). But repetition can mostly be avoided.
- Fun game play - both in the city (leading to H-scenes) and in the Tower (dungeon game). Very little fighting - but a clever "HP drain" system that adds stress to exploring the 40 floors of the Tower.
- Has all the functionality you'd want -- easy saves, gallery (!)
- Never crashed, never paused. Flawless.
- Concise! Very little running around. Once you see an H-scene, if you repeat it you get a shortened version. Awesome!
- NEVER needed a walkthrough or search of f95zone to figure anything out - I love a game that is self-contained and intuitive.

Bad / "Meh" things:

None. What?!? Nope . . . really.

One of the few games I'd consider playing again . . . just to get to see how each location / scene develops from innocent to tawdry.

Advice: Use the Gallery as a guide to finding scenes. Gallery is in the old lady's house.
More advice: Some scenes require different clothing and different corruption (but you can reset your corruption in the old lady's house).
Final advice: Team up with Aisha at the end and wander the city. Some excellent scenes that don't appear in the gallery. Just walk into every building and talk to every NPC - only interactions with scenes are active during this gameplay.

Anyone developing an RPGM game (and some Ren'py) should have to play this game as a learning experience.

Great game!
Art - 10/10, Liz is cute af and CGs are neat. Also her facial expressions are just right!
Gameplay - 9/10, lots of qol improvements compared to your average RPGM game. Skipped battles, shortcuts, freedom of choice to not lewd the main heroine - game is done well.
Story - Story in an adult game? Really?
Characters - there's quite a lot of well-written dialogue and Liz' character development throughout the game. Can't really tell any of that was bad. You also have some worldbuilding here and there but not really much since most of the game is taking place in one area.

Slow corruption and relatively long gameplay.

Not a game of turn based combats, different from many of the genre. At the same time the player must grind collect ad use mind in many different ways

Simple system to view past events.

The graphic is very good

A very high number of the typical situations lived by the MC in this kind of games is present and introduced in a wise way by the developer.

Old RPGM game, but well designed, clear goals, not buggy, actual translation. Solid art! Avoids the whole sex = failstate that some games have. Glad to see this getting uploaded. (Or re-uploaded, I dunno.)

I normally don't like RPGM games that much but, I thought this one was really good. It had a nice wide variety of different fetishes with great scenes. The story was enjoyable to play through and had a lot of different things you could do and try.

Another pretty good game by Clymenia with their ways of creating using rpgm.
- Classic Corruption level used to unlock more extreme version of a scene with story continuity involved between each version.
- Classic Reputation point system used to unlock the map, thus opening access to new scenes.
- free run central gameplay to discover new scenes
- Interesting farming system with a timed dungeon raid feel, no fight system for each monster you meet, just run in them to kill, gain exp and loot. Just need to watch your mana and health and find your way up the different floors.
- Of course we have the famous Exhibition / Corruption main theme of Clymenia. Which is always a plus.
- Interesting characters, a slightly introverted "magic geek" discovering her fetishes in a strange town while looking for her teacher.
- Awesome art, sadly once again wasted on rpgm 640x480 limit
- Kagura working on an uncensored version along with civilian justice league 2 (look like they are planning to work on close collaboration with Clymenia)

Only reason I give 4 instead of 5 is because, in my opinion, it's still not as good as "Salvation"...

the story is really good ,the artwork is amazing as expected of clymenia.t he battle is not annoying at all is fast paced and the tower is easy to clear quite fast.the variety between the different parts of the city is really good.definetely give it a shot.

really amazing game. love the " corruption" and exhibitionism focus. also love how the combat isn't annoying as hell and there isn't much of it. my only problem is the art is a bit bland and they re-use scenes quite a few times; however the excellent writing makes up for it.
