And you are correct.
I like to surprise, and my goal is not always to entertain.
I like to think that sometimes the stories have to be the way they are rather than perfect and the best they can be.
I will do "better" for my next games though. This one is as it should be: unreasonable, shocking, possibly underwhelming, and looking like some old 20th century porn.
But great efforts are made to make it "as it should be."
I am sorry if you feel uncomfortable about my comments, but please don't take me wrong.
I hardly feel "shocking" or any other strong emotion because this game doesn't give me an immersive sense at all. I might be a little curious about why you release it at such an early stage.
How can I put this? Please allow me to give an example:
Many devs give a lengthy prologue in their games because they build up a unique universe that players can't understand easily. they try to sell their ideas; I respect that a lot even if it is not necessary for me to buy it. At least, they make an effort to legitimize their settings which players need to know to enjoy the game. They make a lot of effort to communicate with the players.
When I play this game, I am actually an audience, watching a documentary about some creatures' mating without any narration, which I can never understand. There is no explanation for the girl's condition. Why? What happened? Does she have a family? Friends? does she have any goals? (I know you avoid it at the very beginning by "I don't have many dreams"----big no-no) why she enjoys being pinned down on the road and being raped later on? what is the girl thinking when she "hummmmm....hummmm" all the way? Don't those events need further illustration?
Well, see, you are making a Visual Novel; I guess you fully realize it. In a novel, the creation of characters is critical; I don't need to talk about it because that is the fact. However, in this game, I am watching a puppet without a real character -- who owns a convincing, reasonable life. The game is not a Visual Novel(no coherent story), nor RPG(no character) so far, I am afraid.
Thus, I really think you need to make more effort to build up the foundation for the novel and characters, and then spend more time telling players about them.
