Thank you for the reply! I know it might sound bit rude after you already typed out a long answer but i want to ask if the RNG can be manipulated or subverted the same way in DD? i realized that this game is similar to DD in being a knowledge check but i want to know how much of the RNG you can subvert or manipulate just by having extensive knowledge.LonaRPG is a sandbox game (not really roguelike), it's akin to games like Skyrim, Fallout, GTA and such. It's definitely far far more forgiving with far far less RNG in comparison to DD. I haven't played much of DD since I'm not that into games that are very RNG-heavy. This game is more knowledge check than stat or RNG check, it's only unforgiving for people who don't know much about the game's content and its mechanics (aka beginners. Veteran can complete all content even with a level 1 Lona), so they gotta have to experiment to see how things work which is exactly what's fun about this game (and what's nasty for people who don't want to think too much) since its mechanics is extremely deep, but simple (I still discover new stuff and techs even after hitting more than 200 hours).
If you love challenge, if you love to experiment, if you're a gamer who love to use his head, if you're here for the RPG element before the sex, if you don't mind suffering from the lack of info as a beginner, if you love making NPCs fight among themselves (my favorite thing in this game) then I invite you to play LonaRPG. I recommend to go in blind and see for yourself first.
im a fan of rougelike with heavy RNG but i only like it when the RNG punishes me for bad decisions and not the RNG just deciding to fuck with me just because it felt like it
