Alongside the temp -100 (probably more) moral lost, you will also incur a varying degree of moral lost (based on difficulty, dunno if changed) for killing someone that belongs to the "good" side of the island. Either cough a hefty sum of money to buy back moral, buy fake paper or spend time rescuing damsels-100 moral for murder is a temporary moral loss, and effects people in the area you are in if they spot you while low moral. If you hide long enough while on a map (not overworld) it goes away. This means if you kill someone and then get spotted while -100 moral, then it wears off, your still agro'd by the people who know you as a killer.
Its an RPG maker game design quirk but it works perfectly fine as long as you understand what you are reading. Moral should probably have a tutorial tbh.
Edit: to clarify, it's not about good or evil (moral scale/alignment), it's all about being on the good side of the law. So if you kill a fat fuck of a rapist but said rapist is a high ranking priest or nobleman then sorry but you will have to live with 0 morality cuz you broke the law of the island. I've been thinking about this, why not name it Crime degree instead of morality.
