Ah. Well in that case it makes sense if the process is mostly manual, but if you got it scripted, it should only be a couple of lines to add a cleanup before creating the archive.
Across multiple releases and games, the difference in upload size and time will surely make a big difference to compressors and uploaders.

It is automated by the official Renpy SDK. The Renpy SDK recompiles it and then creates the archive.
