It is even 9 years old and the capsule could be with today options made even smaller. Also the price, for the procedure, seems to be lower than the classic, you see the whole gastrointestinal tract and not only most part of it. Only drawback is that if you see something, you can't treat it on the fly.
So, yes, I don't see why it isn't more widespread.
Only thing I could image is that they would earn less with this than with the standard method.
But it would not need to be a doctor, it could be someone "cheaper" or even one more specialised in looking at footage of gastrointestinal tract and detecting weird things. Even image AI could be an option - I know they may work in strange ways same as some zoners...
