VN - Ren'Py - Long Road Home [v10 Part 4 Beta Hotfix] [OBDGames]

I was a bit torn on whether to rate this 4 or 5 stars. It's a bit linear. The renders/animations are good but not amazing. The story is good but again, nothing I would rate 5 stars. That said, for whatever reason, this is one of my favorites on the site so it's getting 5 stars. Dev took a bunch of 4 star ingredients and somehow came up with a 5 star cake.

Good wholesome harem style of AVN overlayed on top of a story about violence, stipping and other unsavory business. Quite a push pull there. The MC has no issues using violence to make his point. He commits murder and mayhem with nary an issue. He also develops relationships that are wholesome and lovable with a wide variety of women. Its really quite unusual.

The writing is just fine. The renders are good enough. The lewds are nice to look at, plentiful and full of variety. Its just overall a well above average game, with lots of content. I will note that there is a darker side to that was hesitantly touched on early, but was abandoned, so if you see some things that touch on sexual violence on the part of the MC early, dont worry about it. That isnt a thing here. Personally I think a small (gulp!) rewrite of some of the early things might be in order here to re-orient the MCs early actions to where the dev took him later.

Dont get me wrong, the MC is an alpha hyper-masculine dude here. He's no pussy, so dont feat the dev makes him into a beta simp later in the game. He's just both likable and violent/alpha at the same time

Honestly love this game. Its one of my favorites so far. Nikki is amazing definitely. Kat and Katie though are my favorites and I don't know why. I just adore them. Anyways I personally think people should give this game a fair chance. If its not for you thats alright. But its worth giving a try.

Actually incredible.

The renders start out shaky and the game starts out with a really annoying amount of sound effects and not the most convincing story, but it very steadily improves from there and you don't have to wait long for some very hot action. In the later half (more like later 70%, it really doesn't take that long to get good) the models become actually top tier, the animation ranges from acceptable to fantastic and the sound effects start being used smartly and to accentuate certain scenes rather than be a repetitive annoyance. I have to say, while this game doesn't have overall the number one visuals out of all games on F95ZONE, it actually does have the single best render out of any game I've ever played on here and it's of one of the girls in a particularly fancy dress. I damn near ejaculated and had an aneurysm at the same time, I promise you I have never seen anything so hot in my entire life.

As for the story, the MC is very, very much a power fantasy figure where pretty much everything works out and he gets (almost) all the hot girls he meets. If that's a problem for you then probably stay away, it's a very big part of this game, but personally I LOVE IT. This MC basically makes all the same decisions I would have made in his place so it's exactly the kind of fantasy I get on here to play, humongous props to the developer for getting this kind of power fantasy down so damn well. FURTHERMORE, the story beyond the MCs power fantasy is really, actually very engaging. I don't usually get into the stories of most of the AVNs on here and skip through most of it to get to the sexy bits because they're not written well enough for me, but this one really is. There are probably not even 5 games on this website where the writing has actually managed to make me genuinely care about a male character other than the MC, but this one does just that, and SO much more. I get so incredibly engaged in the stories of these girls and their reasons for wanting to be in a open relationship with you, or the other characters you meet along the way and help or put a stop to. There's genuinely only been one girls so far whose writing was a little cringe to me, but it was a bit funny to me instead and I can forgive the game that. Not every little thing can be a slam dunk, at least not with everyone.

I see there's been some rumblings about NTR and/or sharing and let me put my perspective on that, as someone who absolutely CANNOT stand NTR of any kind and I've dropped more than a few game over this. This game does NOT have NTR. It DOES have sharing but only with other girls, and most of the time you can skip that (maybe all the time, I wouldn't know, I love seeing my girls share each other, it just makes harem games all that much better).

BUT!...
What it does have is the *threat* of NTR, or more accurately r*pe or assault. Without going into much details there are several times when dumb assholes are trying to get handsy with your girls, but it's only so that the MC can give them what they deserve, which just plays all the better into the whole power fantasy IMO and actually improves the game. No one is ever truly stealing one of your girls. ALSO, there are several really quite hot girls that (at least so far) will NOT be your girls but trust me, there are MORE than enough girls already falling at your feet that you won't feel too bad about it.

In short, I just can't recommend it enough. Give it a shot past the first wobbly chapter and maybe a half, and give the story a genuine try if you're the least bit into it and I really don't think you will be disappointed.

This is a solid game. The story is pretty good although in my opinion it takes a bit to long to reach the biker culture elements. Being a biker myself although not from the U.S. this aspect of the game was interesting to me.
and i learned a few things along the way.

You can definitely see an improvement in the renders and animations when you compare the beginning of the game with it's latest update.

In terms of characters you have different archetypes to choose from "the milf", "the rebel teen", "the tsudere", the goth",etc. So if you don't like a character there's always another one.
Again in terms of character design there's variety, voluptuous, thin, chubby, big breasts, small breasts,etc. Personally I would like to see a little bit more flavour. Maybe a black woman or two, more scenes with Juanita and her daughter, but that's my personal taste.

Overall a very good game with a solid story, good renders and decent animations. Definitely worth playing.

Really enjoying the story so far. But hoping to see some more from the villains. The renders go up in quality over time which is great. Plus I like the girls so that's everything I could ever want. Yea if you're intrested try it out.

Lots of text, boring story, dime-a-dozen Daz3D models. It's hard to see why this game is rated to highly unless people like exceedingly long, boring games with generic sex scenes. I guess I just answered my own hypothetical question.

Tl;DR:
It's an outstanding game, long and enjoyable. It took me three full days to play it through (non-stop, instead of going outdoors and catching last summer sun rays), even though I skipped the content with Juanita and Chloe (not my type women).

At the beginning I wasn't fascinated with "Long Road Home", as it seemed that it lacked beautiful models. But it gets better and better with every update, so now (Ep.9) I can say there are many beautiful women.

You can choose to pursue certain relationship or not, and there are really many options to choose from.

Every character stands out, with their own style and circumstances. The relationships are pretty natural, usually with some depth and nice romance.

The story is entertaining and rich with details.

Likewise, renders are detailed and well done. (There are a few of lesser quality, but they don't really matter).

The grammar might be imperfect at times, but the general writing style is good. The pacing is perfect. (I found only a few times where a sentence or two could be omitted for brevity).

There are really many sex scenes, with decent variety and nice animations. (At times I even wished them be less in quantity but more in length and sophistication).

It's not your regular porn game, despite the fact that there is a harem of sorts, and nearly all the girls quickly start to like the protagonist very much. (It's OK for me, I know it happens in real life too, even if very rarely).

Conclusion: play it and support it.

A classic 20th century motorcycle gang style game . Good mod and easy patterns is the basis for my reviews . This work has a unique advantage , The plot is very long and wonderful , The MC develops at different times throughout the story , Worth to play .

To be honest, I only played this game because most of the other games I'm following haven't updated in a while, or had short updates. Initially I was hesitant, the prison/military story was intriguing, but the trailer trash models were a bit offputting. Jessy quickly grew on me as a nice looking model and had some tragic backstory that made her into a "real" person. I still don't particularly like the Tracy model (except when the Dev has her in the shower, then she's HOT!) but, then, I'm not into MILFs. Initially I tried the blue path and, honestly it's a great, yet simple path. It's not the "real" story, but you can see an ex con with PTSD being perfectly happy with a nice business, a nice house, a hot mom and daughter combo. My only complaint is did you HAVE to show that last image with the mullet and the white trash pregnancies? I mean, did you HAVE to??? The red path is very well done, the dialogue is witty, the MC is a badass without being a tool. He's a white knight who isn't afraid to do what's necessary to protect what's his. All the characters have well written stories. You can see the foreshadowing where the Reba character will turn from her evil ways and seek redemption. The "bad guys" aren't TOO badly cliched and are also well written. Hell, even the "chad" fiancee is amusing. Even the throwaway side characters are amusing (EG the waitress who throws out hotel California reference) I played expecting nothing and was MORE than pleasantly surprised. Give this one a try!

tl;dr I like it, the story is good but the rest average at best. There is next to nothing which stands out.

The game is good and all but its so basic, it could be a regular at Starbucks...

1. First of all, there are no "real" choices. Choices are either "get a sexy scene" or "get no sexy scene" and most of the choices have some kind of color code which pretty much tells you what to do for lewds
2. That leads to the next part, there is sex and nudity everywhere... Every chick jumps MC at the latest the day after they met him and it feels like the chicks are more often nude than wearing something at all
3. The girls are mostly hot but the graphics are outdated and thats pretty sad since some of them are hot as hell!
4. The story is interesting but the constant waves of tits/asses/pussies just wash over you so you cant really appreciate the story that much.

This is a solid game for Harem lovers. Renders were a bit rough at the beginning but the dev is growing with each new update. Now we have some hot girls to play with.
Storywise the game is more interesting than the usual weg even if some tropes are present in it. Not the usual student and landlady tale though, here we play as a convict trying to start again.
The music is being added now so not much to say in that front.
Overall and excellent game with no false pretenses.

Edit: Chapter 7 and especially 8 showed dramatic improvements in lewd scenes, so that most of the criticism below does not apply to those chapters. I will leave my original review, as it does apply to chapters 1-6, but I have improved the rating to 3 stars. Chapters 7 and 8 would be 4-5 stars on their own.

Mostly good plot, funny and adult MC. The girls are hot and the animations get better. Unfortunately there's no emotions, romance or passion whatsoever, very little dirty talk and the lewd scenes are very technical, so it all feels very lifeless. In lewd scenes you get a menu to see several angles, usually in a normal and a fast speed version. You have to click through them to finish the scene, and the accompanying text consists of "unh, unh" and "I'm coming!" 99% of the time. I love cumplay, but not even that is hot in this game. I did not get hard a single time as far as I can remember. Finally in chapter 7 there's a scene with Rachael after the dinner with her mother and sister that doesn't feel empty and is actually hot. The lack of emotions is at least partly due to the fact that most of the girls are basic sluts who prefer a FWB relationship with MC to a romantic one and they like to fuck with the other girls as much as fucking with the MC. Apart from personal tastes, my biggest gripe with this game are the missing tags. There's lots of NTR in the form of the LIs fucking each other without MC and some NTR-ish stuff in the form of other guys watching/groping LIs. Now I do understand that most guys don't "count" girl on girl NTR but it would be nice to make a note about this in the description of the game. Personally I would be happy with the girl on girl scenes if they asked MC for permission more often. The way it is, this is not really a harem game, more a polyamory, err, polyfuckery game (there's no love, so it can't be polyamory). The second tag it's missing is rape (of a LI, not done by MC).


Regarding the tags: Why not just tag it? It would save time for me and bad reviews for the dev. If you don't want to use the "official" tag system, so people won't filter your game out in searches based on a NTR tag, at least put it in the description.

One good thing I have to say is, I love the social commentary and political jabs. Might be harder to digest if you're on the side getting shit on though.

First, my apologies, dev, 'cause I could have sworn I gave this VN a rave review months ago but, I must have imagined it. Honestly, I probably figured a story as good as this one didn't need my help. After reading all 60 reviews I have realized I could never do what you do. There is no way this VN deserves anything below a 4 star rating and that would only apply back when you were first starting out. The improvement in graphics, animation, writing, story telling in addition to the consistency of updates puts this in the top 3 VN's currently being published on this site and I currently have over 30 very good ones on my hard drive. The very few low ratings I saw didn't demonstrate logical evaluation but, unsubstantiated prejudice or preference. Sorry again, for getting complacent and being lazy. Here is your 5 star rating.

Awesome game story is great! made me sad,happy, angry and all the things needed for really enjoying this game didnt skip any conversations. thats rare tbh. renders are nice, models are hot AF. cant wait for the next update!

Rarely have I come across a game that I can find myself so sucked into. Upon finishing it, I had to play it again. Purely because nothing else could hold my attention. Not even going for a ride, could get me a fix. I love the premise of this game. While some people might scream about it being less than original, after the whole SOA phase of society. Let me tell you how wrong that is. This game feels far more authentic to me. It all comes down to the little details. My absolute favorite moment is a little throw away line, about green on a bike. It was at that moment I knew the creator had to be a rider.

One of the best aspects of the game has been watching the steady increase in quality. Watching where we start, with that mullet monstrosity. To where we are now in 8.5. Things are only looking better with the more time goes by.

I for one hope the road home is long and scenic. Looking forward to the ride!

I played this knowing that it might not suit me, but I get surprised all the time so I never really know. I did enjoy what I guess is the prologue, the beginning, when you can make "good guy" choices. I play these VN's for escape and humor so I like them with less bitter "realz" and more sweet "feelz". You can get all the "people are shitty" you need from rl and tv news, why would you want more of that in your favorite escape? I stopped after the prologue as nothing I was seeing about playing the "must make bad choices" part of the game sounded appealing to me. As such I gave this a 4star rating based on it running smoothly, having good visuals and decent (if a little rough) dialog, and my enjoyment of the time I played.

edit...This is for v1.0 part 1...The renders are decent quality compared to some other titles. Animations arent bad at all. It has a builtin walkthru. Nice range of different women in the harem.The story when not plowing chicks is great When a scene comes up with something questionable you have the option to not watch it happen. Maybe some minor typos but no Engrish. Hell of a fun playthrough

Ok so i have gone over in my head and broken down more or less what i want to say about this game, having put quite a bit of time into it.

First of all I love the models, and the story. There are many many glaring issues with the story but taken in context that it is a porn game, I overlook most of them because i want to escape reality not bring it into porn games.

That said, there are a few critiques that i would like to pass onto the Dev in case he ever does a rework. First is, please make the game more consistent please. in the "prologue" your "good points" gave you a "love" relationship that was filling and rewarding, even if you gained "bad points" by sleeping with extra girls. After 1 particular point in the story (where you must choose one option to advance the story and not get the "perfect good guy" ending and game over), all your relationships "reset" and you are no longer a "boyfriend" but a "sex friend" regardless. The rest of the story you are "sex friends" with Jessy and her mom (the primary LIs)

The part that bothers me is that there is not really consistency in the relationship definitions. They are not "boyfriend/girlfriend" even though other characters call them that all the time and they dont deny it, but when they talk about it they are just like "meh we are good friends that fuck".

This bothers me as i would like to see more development in intimacy, and for one would like the dev to decide if they are, or are not, together. I liked the Jessy that was in love much better than the Jessy that just likes cock.
