Maybe because even GetOutOfMyLab doesn't want to continue the game anymore and he even left the discord channel of the maingame, he might think it's a wasted effort or maybe also be burnt out, so many factors, this game update will have one sex scene so not sure if he wants to make the renpy port

The last he said a couple months back that he wouldn't have much time to update his patches (he retired any that games still have updates) or reply or talk to anyone, and would not be on F95 very much for the foreseeable future. He also said the only thing he would have time to mess with his is his own game. The "last" he also said this would not be abandoned, it's not like he is being paid for it or anything, it's just a fun port he is doing in his free time.

If people don't like it, there is the "normal version" of this game they can go play, the dev has made major strides for the game to be easily translated into other language and many other improvements to it.

One can only assume that IRL work and he got really busy and hasn't had as much free time as he once had.

The primary benefit of being on Renpy rather than just playing the official version is that it is easier to mod in things like a walkthrough mod, so it is double work to realize the benefit. Playing the original version is fine if you just want to experiment and see what different stories you can create by making progressively worse decisions.

He has already said the original version will also have a WT added as well, along with gallery (already there) and making it easier for translators to translate into their own language.

And worse decisions? The game isn't that deep

Seriously, when you have such a big fan of your game that he decides to spend hours after hours porting it to Renpy in exchange for nothing so that more people can enjoy it, but you are so stubborn and blind that you end up driving him away, maybe you should rethink your approach.

Ehh, it can really depend on why someone becomes that kind of a fan -- e.g. they can have some sort of a "vision" of the game in their head that doesn't match what the game actually is like. Should the author then effectively start to bend the game to desires of one person simply because they're a really big fan?

There's also such thing as simple burnout from working on something for a long time; it affects both the creators and "big fans" alike, and has nothing to do with the author's approach.

This fan we are talking about wasn't pushing the dev or demaning anything from him, he just represented a portion of the game's fans who eventually grew tired of always seeing the same stuff update after update. In my opinion, he made some useful suggestions to the dev while he was working on his port, which the dev systematically ignored.
This fan's burnout doesn't have to do with working on his port, or at least it wouldn't seem like that to me. It has to do with falling out of love with the project.

I never said anything about pushing or demanding. But at the same time what the author wanted in his game and what the fan wanted apparently differed quite a bit. So it's still a question whether the author should be doing something they evidently didn't have much interest in and which didn't match author's own idea of what should be the focus of his game, simply because it's something some of the fan(s) said they wanted.

This fan's burnout doesn't have to do with working on his port, or at least it wouldn't seem like that to me. It has to do with falling out of love with the project.

As someone quite intimately familiar with getting burn out on software development, i think this is nowhere near this clear cut.

These things can be very tangled, to the point where it's difficult to say which aspect fueled the other (and most commonly, it is a bit of both)
