For me it's usually the clunky GUI that different devs make (since they don't have a framework like Ren'Py). Usually the lack of rollback and other useful features.Unreal I think generally gets a bad rap sometimes, but as others, I've not had great experiences with it, Unity is hit or miss.
I think the only real thing TTrick really needs (not really "need" requested feature) is the in-game WT, other than that, I think the engine at least on my side runs just as fast and smooth as Ren'Py ever could.
As for TTrick's engine, he's already commented about adding a walkthrough (even though he had been so stubborn against adding one for a long time). There are other things that Ren'Py has, though it really depends on the player. The ability for the game to automatically proceed on its own, Android/mobile, self-voicing for visually impaired, etc. But these are all, IMO, minor things.
