It's not that the text is smaller, but the button itself is a little bigger, allowing more room for text.ditch the purple, small text is bit hard to read.
I think the font is an improvement. Everything else a downgrade.Alright guys, opinion time. I had started reworking the choice menu to match the new UI. Here's the old one (with and without walkthrough enabled):
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
And the new one:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Consider the background color/background image, font, readability, etc.
I probably won't go back to the old one exactly, but could create something similar.
Which do you prefer?
Yeah, it's in the same location as the old one:I think the font is an improvement. Everything else a downgrade.
Personally I always prefer the text on the render to be the least intrusive possible. It should be readable but kinda blend in at the same time. Also the straight black background is much less agressive on the eyes than any shade of purple. Maybe this could work if it were very small and tucked away in a corner but otherwise I'd much prefer the old style.
I always like the highlight approach! When the buttons have a lighter tone to them until you actually mouse over them to make it darker and more readable. Can't go wrong with that.Yeah, it's in the same location as the old one:
I also prefer the font, but was unsure about the button background. I could play with more neutral colors and have a subtle highlight with mouse hover like the old one.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I prefer the Old style, Maybe a bit more transparency on the black background would be niceAlright guys, opinion time. I had started reworking the choice menu to match the new UI. Here's the old one (with and without walkthrough enabled):

Without a doubt, the old version is a thousand times better.Alright guys, opinion time. I had started reworking the choice menu to match the new UI. Here's the old one (with and without walkthrough enabled):

Good points... and based on RNasc's feedback, I already decided that the new version needs to be tweaked quite a bit. I think what I'll do is something similar to the old version, but with some slight changes to match the new UI color scheme (black-ish background, but colored/highlighted when hovering). Will also keep the contrast in mind. I wasn't a huge fan of the old font, so I chose something I thought would be cleaner/easier to read, but not against going back to it. It's the same font I'm using with the other UI changes.Without a doubt, the old version is a thousand times better.
To conclude: The old version is much better, even if the font needs improvement. If, despite everything, you use the new version, please use a black background.
- In the new version, nothing's right. Between a pretty shape and a big opaque rectangle, I prefer the old pretty shape. When it comes to font, ok, the most important thing is that it's functional and easy to read. Not everyone speaks English, so it has to be decipherable for translation software (although, personally, I would have chosen a font closer to the old one). And finally, and most importantly, the colors. It lacks contrast, making the walkthrough difficult to read for some people, especially on a smaller screen. If, at least, the background rectangle were black.
- In the old version... er... hard to find a fault. Perhaps use a font more compatible with screen translation software.
Third solution, you can also put an option in "Preference" to let the player choose for himself. I've done it for "Surrendering to My Crush", If you need you can have my code or I can create a file for you for this game.
It's really awesome you created a renpy port of this because it lets users who don't have a laptop experience the wonderful game.Good points... and based on RNasc's feedback, I already decided that the new version needs to be tweaked quite a bit. I actually want to redo how the walkthrough is implemented, but that I'll save for another time.
It's nice to know people appreciate and enjoy something I've worked on.It's really awesome you created a renpy port of this because it lets users who don't have a laptop experience the wonderful game.
And I like how you integrated a walkthrough as well. Basically, everything you've done with this port is awesome.
It's good to know if my laptop ever stops working, I can still play this on my tablet.
Oh yes, be shure about that, GOML , I allways have both versions downloadedIt's nice to know people appreciate and enjoy something I've worked on.
