Dude GetOutOfMyLab is under no obligation to provide content for this game. He works on the renpy port because he wants to.He should pay for an exclusive early access so he can provide the Ren'Py version much faster. I don't understand why he hasn't started to include his own renders to add new and improves scenes by now. It seems he's just slacking off and browsing this site a lot without doing much in between releases.
Oh noes, you took my comment serious. Well joke's on me. Looks like my other comments weren't as memorable as I thought they would be. I hope you sleep better this night knowing you did a good job. I've got no complains. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I really like LSS but I really don't like custom engines because a) I don't see the point in them when Ren'Py exists, b) I'm a Linux user and renpy VNs give me a .sh which is nice, and c) I'm a dirty cheater that likes the visibility and control that URM gives meI had to give it a night to think about how I wanted to respond to this...
If one were to read the developer notes in the first post, they'd be able to understand what my initial goal with this project was... to learn Ren'Py.

Adding new scenes/renders was never on the cards for this project. I believe I've even said as much in this thread before. There are a few good reasons for that:
- I'm not very good with Daz and hate working in it
- I don't have all of TTrick's assets to even be able to recreate anything
- Mixing fan art with real game art just looks trashy
With this port, I've provided the game to all the folks who just prefer to play in Ren'Py. That was a main goal. With that, Android users are able to also enjoy the game, since the official game does not have this. Additionally, I've provided quality-of-life features, such as a built-in walkthrough, marking Insta posts as read, and before TTrick implemented it in the official game, a gallery and scene replay.
I find it absurd to be accused of slacking off. I've fulfilled the scope of the project each and every update by TTrick. And then to have someone upset about not paying for early access for a project I'm working on for free for the benefit of the community? LOL what a joke (btw, I also was a high tier subscriber for years, so a moot point). And to be clear, I have access to TTrick's Github where he stores his code for Long Story Short. But I don't start work on a release until he finishes his part because it's more time-consuming to have to constantly pull his code down, look at what's changed, and implement it. It's far easier to wait until he's done and get to work.
Also, as Joshy mentioned, I'm also helping out other devs on their games. Whether it's with code, proofreading, testing, or helping them run their discord. Just to break it down:
- Long Story Short (Ren'Py port, proofreading, testing, general advising, scene ideas, discord admin/mod)
- Desert Stalker (proofreading, testing, general advising, discord admin/mod)
- Horton Bay Stories (proofreading, testing, general advising, discord admin/mod)
- Between Worlds (coding, proofreading, testing, general advising, discord admin/mod)
- Young Again (proofreading, testing)
- Rovering to Sussex (proofreading, testing)
Anyway, if you are not happy with what I've done here, you're more than welcome to go play the official version.

I would appreciate him even more if instead of adding content to the game, he removed a nice chunk of it.I hope you know that we appreciate what you do, very much.
But if I removed Ann from the game, there would hardly be any content in the game at all...I would appreciate him even more if instead of adding content to the game, he removed a nice chunk of it.
But he just won't! A fellow bearded man shouldn't be so scared of ruffling some feathers, I'm just saying
LoL you both deserve that Ann would be suplanted by a drop-dead-gorgerous 10/10 girlI vote for changing Ann's model with an actual Bobblehead. At least her content would be fun! .
and what would be difference?LoL you both deserve that Ann would be suplanted by a drop-dead-gorgerous 10/10 girl

Oh and no bubble heada drop-dead-gorgerous 10/10 girl
Fuck! You made an indisputable pointBut if I removed Ann from the game, there would hardly be any content in the game at all...
Might still be an improvement, thoughFuck! You made an indisputable point
No, the official game does not have music... yet. When it does, I'll be bringing that over in the port, too.So, I had started the main game (only like 10 minutes) until I found out about the Ren'Py port and was circling around to playing this while I finished another game. I just started and am around the same point as before, meeting Ann, but I swear that there was music in the other game. Is there no music, or do I have some setting wrong? It looks like everything is how it should be, but it feels odd not hearing anything... just wanted to make sure!
I'm interested in hearing certain scenes with music added but then I'll probably go back to turning the volume off like I do with most games. No, the official game does not have music... yet. When it does, I'll be bringing that over in the port, too.
Thank you. I'll probably just play something in the background, then. I've been really looking forward to playing this one.No, the official game does not have music... yet. When it does, I'll be bringing that over in the port, too.
