Many RPGs insist on adding mechanics that a lot of people like, but also a lot of people dislike. Like Encumbrance or a limited ability to sprint, survival mechanics like hunger, thirst, cold etc.. or a levelling system that seems tedious. So not everyone used these to grant themselves a million gold pieces or the best gear or grant themselves ten levels or such stuff.
Nowadays, of course, we mostly just use mods or cheat engine. Thanks for reminding me of my age, you suckers!
