and some people find it annoying that saves are harder to find than in renpy. but yes, it's basically the same. Although we have to keep in mind that AVNS phone players are a large percentage, so that's why so many criticisms of other engines I guess.

The thing most don't know about Ren'Py is it keeps saves in a hidden directory as well, so people probably still have 1,000's of saves still on their PC.

This is my hidden directory, I'm too lazy to delete: 4.54 GB (4,883,274,566 bytes) and 15,967 Files, 1,049 Folders

It is not only for that but because no one translates the TTrick version into other languages but the Ren'Py port made by getoutofmylab is translated into more than 10 languages within the forum

I mean they could have done it with the other game eninge too, the engine supports it.

If the original engine is close to renpy already, why bother with a port anyways? I'm just curious, never played the original and kinda assumed it's crap, since somebody went through the trouble to port everything I don't feel like starting over, so I'll wait for the port either way...

From what I understand this version also has improved dialogue. I think the original creator is English as a second language. So translations on the original are kinda weird at times. Plus Ren'Py is just the smoothest engine with the most options for this type of content imo.

Not sure what you mean smoothest, Electron acts just like Ren'Py, you got tab skip, space bar/enter for dialogue, right click save, pretty much all the bells and whistles. For what content? Porn

Can't speak for everyone, but electron apps are usually code for non-native garbage that doesn't respect platform specific consistencies. They also tend to have quite a bit of overhead for no reason.

It isn't pure Electron anyway from my understanding. But, at the end of the day, the game/engine runs/works perfectly fine. The main thing (it's just not this game) is that people refuse to play/try anything that doesn't say Ren'Py, I see it daily in RPGM/Unity and every other game engine that doesn't say Ren'Py.

does it have an easy modding option?
for example while personally i dont give a damn about tab skip, right click save, gallery, quick menu shortcuts etc.. i do give a damn about all rainbows-colored characters fonts, non transparent textboxes, ("hardcoded") side images/avatars, (hardcoded) various on-screen gadgets, indicators and other "helpers"...

if there are those (easy) modding possibilities though, i would be much more prone to try anything that doesn't' say "Ren'Py".
if not, well, sorry, but not sorry.

for now, probably it would be for the best to stop this non-renpy promotion in renpy-thread.

I'm talking about the same game, (there are comments in here that people don't even know what a port is and think it's his game, and asking why they do 2 games instead of 1) this game is 100% free, and he will not accept any money, it helps out both parties, it could always bring in more support for TTrick. It's not about promoting another engine.

i dont think so, though i might be wrong.

cant understand the need to have "custom" engine (or to heavily modify some common engine in that matter) if you already have quite solid functional (and popular) engine at the first place.
yet to not go overly OT here, im gonna stop now

cause those others suck.

anyways it partially depends where those others save saves and if has autosaves (some unity games save in game directory while some save to under appdata) and how stable those are (rpgm used to be not that stable).

I know another user (can't find the thread) does an Italian one like that. Maybe after the update comes out, they will update them, but it guess depends on demand for them. Then again there are some auto translation tools now available which some might use on their own. There is another "Russian" site that heavily translates games as well.

Looks like really only 3 different threads, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. And only Italian is updated.

I completed the final scene yesterday. That one was soul-sucking because it was really long, multiple paths, and worst of all, it was all about Ann...

With that said, what's left is adding the new gallery items and replay scenes and some minor technical things. I'm also working with a friend on testing the piece that should allow us to update android version from within the game, which allows me to exceed the 2GB limit. This one is a little worrisome, but I want to tackle it now and have a solution before it's too late.

Then, there's the PC updater, which will essentially do the same thing. Just need to implement it and test.

And then we'll send off to the typical people I send for initial testing.

Hi. If you're worried about the Android port, the solution is simple.

• Just make a game containing only the GUI by configuring the game saves and mods in "~/Documents/RenPy_Saves/[game name]". That's less than 100 MB.
• Once this has been installed, the player should place the "game" folder from the PC or Mac version in the "~/Documents/RenPy_Saves/[game name]" folder.

You can also make an APK that will download the game files after installation (

). But you'll have to find a compatible server, etc... It's more complex.

The final solution is to install

, and play the PC version in JoiPlay. That's what I'm doing now, and it's working very well.

In any case, these solutions allow you to get around the 2GB limit on Android.
