Remove Vanessa from the game, it's no longer LSS, just a generic college harem/dating sim game. She adds the chaos, the flavor, the proverbial joie de vivre.
And I say this not even being a Vanessa fan! My favs are easily Emily and Alex, but Vanessa is the sticky glue that holds the narrative together.

Both Vanessa and Ann are cornerstones of the game. Obviously the plot revolves around them in their own ways. Personally I'm still an Ann Stan because she isn't a character type you see in most VNs. A character that literally will be anything you want her to be and actively pursues you. Some VNs have a similar trope but they're not as well written.
Don't get me wrong, Vanessa is great but so are most of the girls in the game. Heck I know everyone wants more Alex but personally I'd still love to see more Angela scenes.
