Um.. did you not read? I was a patreon supporter for a few months last year and only unsub cos of the lack of updates. So i have spent more than a single dime and have the right to complain according to your logic. So this is me complaining. I will go ahead and play all the future updates for free now, and will complain as I see fit for the lack of content and updates. You can head back to your little discord community and continue feeling like your part of something and get taken advantage of by this lazy dev, oh and get off that high horse while you are at it.

Now you can value someone's opinions more based on if they pay or not. I think that's perfectly fine. But if someone lobs criticism at a game while not paying. The only reason you’re even able to enjoy that game for free is because people like me who actually supported the developer shared it out of generosity.
If no one had ever bought the game in the first place, do you think it would’ve even made it to that site?

No, bullshit. I support a ton of games on this site, most of them I haven't left a single fucking post on their threads. When I do leave a post it's either bc it's completely unsalvageable and I don't want others to waste their time or its bc I think it could really be something and I would support it if they just fixed a certain issue(s). (Too many new "games" literally have no content to judge and imho, that's simply unacceptable for people asking for financial support. One game was literally just designating the characters relationship to the MC and immediately ended once done.)

My employer is a multinational corporation that that generates billions annually in profits without spending a single penny on ads, press releases, or PR tours. The company started as two parents and the 3 kids 54yrs ago. We completely decimated an established industry, built a new one, and now possess a global 88% market share. All bc we went directly to potential customers and tailored our products to their needs. Nearly 15yrs of that time was spent listening to these potential customers telling us precisely why they wouldn't purchase from us. So my employer CHOSE to use the type of guerilla marketing that is absolutely necessary to succeed in this space. We don't do robo calls, we don't do door to door sales. Our customers are our advertising. Well, their massively increased revenue is.

I'm not going to buy a game like Avowed when they went out of their way to tell me they were making a game that no longer served their target audience and not to buy it. I'm going to call them idiots, then I'm going to laugh as the game became a massive flop. Then, when they started crying about why no one bought the game, I'm going to point out they told us the game wasn't made for us and not to buy it. All while the people who didn't pay attention try to justify wasting money on the game when most of even the gaming media pointed out it was a decent value if you already have GamePass - in other words, if you got it for free, it's a good value. And I had happily bought every single one of their games up to that point.

It's like Disney telling fans of franchises who have been around for decades that the property they've loved for decades isn't made for them, so don't watch it. Well... I'm sure they'd like those billions of dollars they've wasted on properties they destroyed back. And you want to sit here and tell an indy dev it's smart to behave like that? Your IQ is lower than your shoe size.

I have no issue with this game or the development, but I absolutely have an issue with the sheer idiocy you're spouting. Put the fries in the bag and go back to your corner.
