Joey is actually a decent guy, he clearly wanted the MC to get out the house more,
since his parents are always away on business.

Joey is really a good dude. Like you said, he brought MC out of his shell, but he also went through the whole self-improvement thing. Got himself skinny, banged some chics, etc. Really, he's the last person I'd want to betray like that.
