I love when I post something like this, and someone immediately posts an excuse.
Some devs write stories that wouldn't fail a primary school storywriting test, in whatever language.
Some devs ensure their code is debugged before release.
Some devs realize UX is an actual value add.
Some devs don't rely on expositional text that would never occur in anything remotely close to the real world, whether or not their game world resembles it.
Some devs don't use default models.
Some devs who rely on AI art actually check things like how many fingers an image has before including it in their game.
And some devs realize that they can either invest in custom sounds or just use the most basic Google search to find petabytes of cringe-free, no cost porn SFX.
It's just like anything else in life - some people go the extra mile.
The overwhelming majority just find excuses not to, and don't.
"A" players get money from me, sometimes for years. They also seem to have more paying fans on average, even after games are completed.
Not so much for the "participant trophy" excuse makers.
