The current ambush mechanic definitely has some issues. I think the two main problems are that both suppressing and heavy fire are mostly worthless, so the only important thing is grenades, and the enemy has infinite grenades while you have 3. I'm not sure, but perhaps part of the issue is that your xp and equipment don't appreciably affect the damage you do with suppression/heavy fire - based on trying with different troop counts and equipment %, it doesn't seem to. Also, there should possibly be a counterattack option, if I have 50 troops and the enemy has 25, it would make sense for me to go on the offensive. The chance the enemy throws a grenade seems to be based on their current near : current total ratio, perhaps it should be current near : original total troops, so if they are down to 20 from 60 they are much less likely to have grenades to throw.

Maybe others have had a different experience, at least for me the strategy that won with the current system was to expand my army to 110 troops, which by the time we triggered an ambush had about 60% weapons and 80% xp, only use heavy fire to reduce the number of turns the enemy had to throw grenades at me before I threw one at their full army and moved, repeat 3 times and then just heavy fire until my army was wiped out, but the enemy apparently had lost enough so they retreated.

Can anyone advise about how I'd go about troubleshooting the following error:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Also a few minutes later game crashed with the following log:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Downloaded the normal (not compressed) 0.8 file from mega, in case relevant. No mods used or anything.

Renpy says you don't have enough RAM. Maybe you had too many applications running at once?

Ah, damn yeah I had a bunch of tabs open. Seems weird though, wasn't hugely outside of the range of what I usually have going. Rebooted and closed everything but this tab, will resume playthrough. Thanks, I'll monitor memory more closely.

I'm still near the beginning of the game, but it seems pretty distinctive so far. I'm just starting to learn the management mechanics, seems a bit intimidating at first glance, but that may well be an inaccurate assessment. Will return with further thoughts :) Keep up the good work dev, and Merry Christmas to all.

what happened to the walkthrough for this game?
Nobody wants to make one. I think it's because the game mostly makes it clear, what's going on in the script. Still would be nice to have tips about the gameplay. At the moment we have only this:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
If anyone wants to make the walkthrough, you can count on my help.

Yeah, I've had a similar experience. I just wonder why your own army of 60+ (that I currently have) would only bring three grenades, the effectiveness of which quickly runs out altogether. You basically corner an army of about 12 enemies, throw one grenade that kills 9 (so 3 left), but each of the other grenades will only kill 1 at max so for that last unit you'd have to use heavy fire - which results in dozens of replacement enemies to kill. At that point you have no grenades left, only gunfire as an option (which only draws *more* enemies) and as mentioned they seem to have an infinite amount of grenades.
So after the third battle action you literally have 1 enemy left to kill, but after action six or seven or so your army is decimated and you're suddenly facing over 90 enemies with your only weapon being heavy fire that only draws more enemies to kill. It's completely unwinnable with this tactic (although I haven't tried yours yet, might work).

Of course you can simply ignore these kind of battles as they're easy to recognize because you're walking into an ambush, but the changelog explicitly states that you'll have to win a battle like that to get an extra girl for the harem. So I guess I'm still trying.

I may be mistaken and the in game text contradicting me but I understood the "throw three times" thing not as three individual grenades but as three grenades per soldier. So killing that many people would be possible. Yes, in practice there would be the option to have only part of your guys throw them instead of all at once but in the end this is a minor minigame within another game, not a battle sim.

What I found strange however was the reaction after my first grenade throw "now they're angry". So they were okay with me mowing down half of their strength with machine guns before?

Yeah, I don't care, it still doesn't make sense. I have over a 500 man army, 100% experience and 100% weapons. My numbers and skill alone should change some of these variables, if it is 3 grenades per a soldier then that means i can throw 1,500 grenades. Against an army of 30 people, that should be a victory. Regardless it says the enemy throw "a grenade", not multiple so I still can't wrap my head around losing 1/4 of my army to a single grenade. Other than that, I loved all the new Pam content. Can't wait until we can finally start recruiting some of these women.

Well I am winning ambushes and other battles like attacks but still it is not saying anything about taking slaves. Money is added but not slaves.

Only if you attack humans (human settlement, slave camp), not when you meet mutants. Better trade with them, with a large enough army it will yield more money and save soldiers.

After a bit more testing it might be a little better to use heavy fire until you have their whole force near you, throw all three grenades, then retreat and only use suppressive fire until they start throwing grenades, then retreat the last time, suppressive until they throw grenades then heavy until win. With that strategy I lost 50 of 200 soldiers.

Also, it seems that the weapons percentage does affect the numbers, testing with 200 soldiers at 100% equipment you can kill 22 enemies per turn with suppressive fire, which was more than they would reinforce each turn. That's probably why others with larger armies were having no trouble with this.

So what's the corruption in this game? Do you get the ladies to do increasingly slutty stuff, do you rape 'em until they love it, what kinda corruption is it?
