TL;DR: In response to Patreon's potential angling at wider NSFW crackdowns (and since SubStar isn't available in South Africa, or at least hasn't been taken into consideration at that point, idk the logistics of it), updates are no longer going to be monthly, and instead move towards a "whenever I feel like shipping it" model.

TL;DR: The long delay was because of Patreon's NSFW crackdowns, mentioned in the last patreon notice, prompting Zaggy to take a break... but when he came back, he realized he wasn't in it, and chalked it up to burnout. However, upon noticing other neurological concerns, he then went to the doctor, and as it turns out he'd been getting quietly damaged by... something (long COVID?) the whole time, which he's dealing with.
So: the next update won't be for quite a while, but the game isn't dead, as some may have feared.
