Either way, I recall playing this a long time ago. Would be worth giving it another playthrough again, as I don't remember if I even played through all the content for it even tbh. Where is the website to supposedly play this rewer version at? The patreon hasn't seen an update since last year it seems?
test versions and such are usually on the discord

I wouldnt recommend playing the test version, its buggy, saves will probably break, you will straight up not have a good time

I mean, the current version itself is buggy. Like for instance, with Charlotte, i put the wrong trait by mistake. When i tried to change it, the game crashed. Also sometimes when i press space, the game goes to the buy menu on my computer and get stuck. So the game is not running that smoothly in the first place. So I can't imagine how much worse it got with the new update.

Saves were not compatible on 0.11.93-95, but from 0.11.97 I noticed that saves from 0.11.00 worked, so I assume (And I may be completely wrong there) that saves will be compatible from previous versions.
Right now he is just quashing bugs, not adding anything, so If you want to start again, and wait (and indeterminate amount of time) until 0.12.00, it "should" be safe. Having said that, not a small amount of assets in this cycle are linked to the good brother start, and only for the first couple of ATs of Gina and Becky. So to see all new stuff in this version a new start would be recommended.

You can take a look at Parasite Black. This game is more complex than Loser will ever be (And it's not a critical). Their code is crazy.

I'm myself part of some dev teams (in Renpy). Like for Midnight Paradise. You'll say it's not the same, and you'll be right... but it still have a calendar system, events system, some stats. It's not by adding 1000 stats/skills that you'll crash a game in Renpy.
I'll give Parasite Black a second look, I had it on ignore (based on tags/pictures/description not playing). Midnight Paradise was/is already on my list to try one day.

I've not played Loser yet. Liked SP1 a lot, and recently was thinking about starting this one, but waiting for this current update to drop.

I personally think that there is no need for us to discuss what can and cannot be done in Renpy.
Baal gave his reasons at the time on Discord, linked to what he had coded in Renpy... He mentioned that probably some of the limits to what could be done (or how difficult it was to do things) were set by him at an early stage. But if you guys want to read the full post, here it is.

I don't intend to drag the subject out. But as long as you stick to 2D graphics, my point was to say that you can do it with Renpy. But of course, there are countless reasons to go with something else. I remember reading that Baal said he didn’t like the lack of a graphical UI in Ren'Py, for example. That's a choice.

There's a lot of finicky status changes between the different Archetypes so it wouldn't be practical in the RenPy framework.

The dev was just finished a reasonably significant RenPy game and he wasn't a fan of the limitations.
If you're talking about Superpowered, finished is... debatable, to put it gently.

when is the new version?

Jokes aside.... who knows? There is still a load of bugs in the test version. And currently it doesn't even allow us to test the new AT for Charlie because you cannot transform her due to a bug with a missing action button.

Man, I just tried it based on this because I love grindy games, they are my fav. This game was freaking awesome. After about 4 hours I used the cheat though, and spent another 2 hours trying not to cheat too hard.
After I got to the end of content I really felt this would be super amazing, if it were streamlined hardcore. Like everything 10x the pace is necessary. Because all of the extra clicking even with cheat, felt grindy. But I really liked the slow corruption, and psychology of the game. I hope the dev takes the feedback, and runs with it. This is pretty solid

Anybody know of any other games like this? Where you slowly change the mind of characters. Not just a simple plot driven change, but where you actually have control of it like in this game? I only know of one other game like this and its not allowed on this website (I think) so I wont name it.

The changes in this game with it's vaguely NLP type of approach is pretty rare, i've not seen it done like this very much. Strip club wars has something similar but not quite the same.
