Yeah, that seems to happen like that all the time.

My theory on why this seems to happen so often is I think many of the great games that get abandoned were being made by perfectionists. Being like that myself about some things I know just how easy it is to get stuck in your own head about every tiny detail which can lead to no progress being made eventually.
While on the flipside the shitty games are being made by people who just don't give a fuck and will churn out whatever, quality be damned.

try discipline...so many great games have been completed while having a lot of content without quality drop off
It's also the fact that these games are often meant to be extra income. When they don't generate enough income, or the author gets a better job, they get dropped.
This game had very good renders, very good models but zero control over the story. Regardless of the choices it isn't possible to avoid a relationship with the 'lost' daughter and this disappointed many.
If I remember right, Theo Malt was the original writer, but later parted ways with the author... I don't know what was the original plan, but maybe this also is a reason why the story is now so linear.

I think we just need to hope someone else picks up this game, doesn't look it's getting finished as it is.
That's kind of funny or sad because from what I remember this game is basically a new version of the abandoned game "Our Fate" after the dev from that game didn't to let them continue it.

Although the developer hasn't posted anything on Patreon since October, they posted a month ago on their discord. The current plan is a July release and it will complete the game.
Promises, promises. It would be nice I guess, but even then, I feel like we'd a get a rather rushed story.

For sure. It's been so long I don't even remember how the last release ended, but since the next update is supposed to finish the story it sure sounds like a rush job to bring it to an end it instead of providing a satisfying ending.
Unless the update is huge, which let's be honest judging by the size of the previous releases and the time left until July it can't be, we won't be able to get a satisfactory story. We have the redhead barista, Cassidy, Kayley and her job at the club, the MC's boss (Kaylani) and the corporate fraud or whatever they were doing, and the wife. This would take at least like 5-10 chapters more.
Lmao for real, it feels like games with some of the crappiest graphics, stupidest fetishes and dumbest writing are out here getting updated every week.
Perfectionism is just a good excuse for procrastination. I had the same issue with my dissertation and thesis. At the end of the day you gotta publish something, it isn't supposed to be perfect, nothing will ever be. If anything, you can look back and see that you set up a goal that doesn't fit you anymore, as long as you own up and make it public that you will downsize things it's going to work out. Pro tip: never set out to make a magnum opus, nor wait for the perfect inspiration stars to align, just do what you can and keep chugging along. The best idea in your head isn't worth anything compared to what you have on paper so to speak. If you expect to publish a masterwork and become rich and famous from it, then you are lost from day one and are just waiting to drop out.

I totally understand why people are frustrated, feels like more games get abandoned then completed from what I've seen
